Great music! This group definitely is going to be HOT! Reviewer: Ana Vera I definitely see the influence of many different artist in the style of music but yet has it's own unique style. Great music and Lyrics! Sumptuous offering from the hot French export, Romeo Blue Reviewer: V.Strange Romeo Blue, a mainstay on the European concert circuit has finally dropped their long-waited first album, Soul Flowers. From the first funky notes of "Magic Potion" to the reprise of "None Above You" , the listener is taken on a ride, full of heartfelt lyrics and intricate harmonies by lead singer, Dorien Lamar, an American soulster who started his musical life as a keyboardist, the melodic and ever-evolving guitar and keyboard soundscapes of François Rivollet, who studied under the great Ronnie Jordan here in the States, and the solid and funky bass work of newcomer to the fold, Arnaud Morin, who's contributions interlock and compliment with both melody and rhythm. Stand out tracks include "Living the moment", with its creamy moog-like synth moments, and highflying lyrical optimism. "The Role"; the best song Steely Dan never recorded, a fusion of soul and heady jazz-rock. The introspective and atmospheric "Foolish Pride" in which the lyricist compares his ego to a giant who ".battles him everyday", keeping the songs protaganist from getting emotionally closer to Lady Love. The songs "Never Surrender" and this reviewers personal favorite, "Sacrifice" stand as archetypes for the Romeo Blue sound: Ever blossoming chord structures, excellent musicianship that supports and punctuates the songs peaks and valleys, and beautiful words and harmonies that take you to vistas familiar and unknown. So stop, take a deep breath and inhale this audio-aroma therapy, Soul Flowers. V.Strange [This message was edited Mon Jan 26 12:34:09 PST 2004 by dealodelandron] | |

Romeo Blue was Lenny's stage name prior to his first album. He decided to go by his real name shortly before Let Love Rule was released. Obviously, some new band has decided to snatch up his throwaway. Do not hurry yourself in your spirit to become offended, for the taking of offense is what rests in the bosom of the stupid ones.
