Black In The Day - "I Like" : Guy An amazing melodic tune which defies soul and the New Jack Swing in one.
The vocal arrangement is perfect, and goes so well along with the music. And that breakdown!!! It was the best song on the Guy album. The 12" was ok too.  Straight Jacket Funk Affair

That whole album was slammin' though... Thanks for the laughs, arguments and overall enjoyment for the last umpteen years. It's time for me to retire from Prince.org and engage in the real world...lol. Above all, I appreciated the talent Prince. You were one of a kind. | |

Man I loved that whole album...that was middle school for me...everytime I hear "I Like", "Groove Me" or "Teddy's Jam" it takes me back to 1988 riding home from school on the bus with everyone dancing to these songs. Our bus driver used to play tapes in the bus so Guy was a favorite on the 'Ghetto Bus'... Every minute of last night is on my face today.... | |

If I remember correctly,that was Timmy Gatlin.He left the band (or was kicked out?) shortly before the debut album was released.He was replaced by Aaron Hall's brother. Timmy did a solo album in 1990 with the minor hit single "Help".I remember Teddy Riley making fun of him on Video Soul.When asked about Timmy and his single,Riley joked "Yeah,he REALLY needs help"
