NEW JANET SONG TITLE! Saturday, January 24, 2004
New single title: 'Love Me For A Little While' The first single from Janet's new 2004 album is titled "Love Me For A Little While," according to DJ Peter Rauhofer's official website. Rauhofer's website says that the DJ is currently remixing the song, which will be released in February. This will be the first time Rauhofer, known for his trademark dark tribal mixes, has remixed a song for Janet. In the past, the famed DJ has remixed songs for artists such as Madonna, Depeche Mode, Whitney Houston, and Cher, amongst others. He is nominated for a Grammy at this year's awards for his remix of Christina Aguilera's "Beautiful." Rauhofer is the current resident DJ at the Roxy in New York City.

My boy Peter is going remix Janet's new song! Oh, sh*t! It's about to be on and crackin'! I know this remix is going to be on jump! Ohhh, shhh*t! Peter Rauhofer is one of my favorite DJs (heard him spin live 3 times last summer, had a ball). This is going to be hot as hell. I can't wait for this. Peter made some remixes for your a** in '03. This sh*t is going to be hot. I know it. [This message was edited Sat Jan 24 12:45:30 PST 2004 by JANFAN4L]

Man, I'm happy as a clam over here. This is great news. My birthday is February 1st and the single drops during the month of my b-day. Janet's performing at the Super Bowl on my birthday and now this news about Peter doing the honors on the "Love Me For A Little While" REMIX! Man. Like the McDonald's commercial said so eloquently, "I'm lovin' it." LOL! I love my bodyy! [This message was edited Sat Jan 24 12:40:15 PST 2004 by JANFAN4L]

I can't wait if the title sounds a bit cliche. Ism't the song supposed to hit radio the 26th or did the push it back. When does the single actually go on sale cuase I know that some motherfuckers might not play the song do the fact that Janet is over 24!

This song will probably be smokin'. But then, so was "All For You", and we all know how the parent album turned out. This time, before I buy it, I'm downloading it to make sure it's good. If not, then I'll settle solely for her maxis.
On a side note: another big star jumping on the Rauhofer bandwagon? Anyone else consider his remixes to be boring, repetitive and formulaic at best?

I work for EMI (Virgin's parent co) and just got word that "Love Me For A Little While" will go for official multi-format ads Feb. 11th. But as it always is with an artist like Janet...it will probably leak onto radio sooner than that. This date like the albums release date is subject to change. Every minute of last night is on my face today....

I love how this project is shrouded in secrecy. Kind of reminds me of the "1814 project" and the mystery that surrounded its release back in 1988-89. I still remember the Velvet Rope ad campaign back in Fall of 1997. It was one of the coolest commercials I've ever seen for an album. It was a a slow-mo commercial and it showed a bunch of twenty-somethings running in slow motion on a red carpet towards a velvet rope, rushing to get to the other side. Janet wasn't in the commercial, but her non-digetic voice saying the "Twisted Elegance" intro. Did anyone else see this commercial?

I vaguely remember tha VR commerical. If I remember correctly is was shown during the 1997 MTV VMA's. I'll have to search through that tape. I remember back in 1989 when they did a commerical for Rhythm Nation during the VMA's and I remember being so excited I almost we myself. It was excerpts from the Rhythm Nation short film and included the RN 'plege' and a piece of 'Rhythm Nation' with Janet and her army of dancers. Man it was good! I have yet to hear the plans for the new album but I'm sure it will be massive. I'm so excited for the Super Bowl..I hope she does more than just the MegaMix '04. It's the only reason I'm watching this year!!! LOL...well Outkast too! Every minute of last night is on my face today....
