I like Edie, never went past "What I Am" though.

Think I'll check this new release out.
I'm firmly planted in denial

lol I never thought her twang was annoying, but this quote is right in the fact that her voice has matured in an AMAZING way!

I think that's "The One Who Went Away"

I've been hung up on "Once In A Blue Moon" myself, but the whole album is simply gorgeous!

I'm glad I'm not alone in this! hug

I used to play Shooting Rubberbands at the Stars constantly. I won tickets on the radio to see their show when they were touring with Ghost of a Dog. I wasn't into the Third cd though, can't even remember the title. Sounds like this one might be good.

I love this quote: "I really thought I could give it up," she said in an interview with The Associated Press. "But I really love music, and having a creative outlet is really the best thing you can do for yourself."

music I KNOW that's right!

God, yes!! The first few stanzas alone are sooo sublimely visual.

That song makes me deeply nostalgic for past love whenever I hear it.

The 3rd CD (Her 1st 'solo cd') was Picture Perfect Morning. It was okay, but VERY adult contemporary/easy listening bland. This new cd really feels like she's moved back to her roots.

ps- Air of December and Little Miss S are my fave "rubberband" tracks! smile

pps- that quote you referenced is awesome, that's what stuck with me from the article!

i went onto some site and sampled the first 30 secods of each song. unfortunately, i wasn't impressed with what i heard. now, i realize 30 seconds is nothing...i mean, sometimes the vocals hadn't even begun yet. but, i'm too broke to throw down some cash on something. is there an edie site that has better samples?

Wow! Not only do I love Shooting Rubberbands at the Stars, but I actually bought it for "Air of December"! I actually created a mellow mixtape back in the day that included the song as well.

My college roommate (freshman year) used to play that album a lot, otherwise I might not have heard of them until all the rap groups started sampling "What I Am".

one of my favorite concert experiences ever was Edie and the band during the Ghost of a Dog tour. They played at my college, it was a very small venue. Such an amazing vibe. The audience and band connected on a level that i've rarely seen at a show. When she did Circle it was very quiet, and everybody in the room sang along... it was very moving... they rocked. Edie is an amazing singer/songwriter. Ghost of a Dog didn't do well on the charts, which is a shame cause it's one of the great albums of that period, in my opinion.
