Crucial Conflict - Hay

That song was a jam. I still bump that, too. "Smokin' on..." I think "Hay" was one of the first of the southern "Krunk" songs. We hear them so much today on mainstream radio. You know, that Krunk sound: Bonecrusher ("I Ain't Never Scared"), Lil Jon & Eastside Boyz ("Don't start no stuff, won't be no stuff"), etc.

If I ever heard those two DefJam classics AT A DANCE CLUB I would probably faint and miss the rest of the song.

I never hear 80s hiphop played like that.

This list has proven to be addictive. Thanks to this list, I've pulled out a bunch of old hip hop CDs and I'm steady jammin'. Right now I'm all over Brand Nubian's "All For One" joint (not to mention all the other joints you guys are mentioning).

Almost anything by Public Enemy.

Early Salt & Pepa (before their music got too slick)

De La Soul.

Urban Dance Squad.

"The Breaks" by Kurtis Blow.

"White Lines", "Survival", "The Message" by Grandmaster Flash & The Furious Five.
This post not for the wimp contingent. All whiny wusses avert your eyes.
