Tina Turner-Was She Ever On Drugs? I used to hear this rumor awhile ago that Tina used to share the drugs with Ike when they were married but she didn't mention that in the book, is there any truth in that? I'm very curious about it.
Speaking of Ike & Tina Turner, I've alwaysed thought that their effort was(and still is) untouchable. I'm very happy about Tina's solo career but what about her 70's/60's work? Every music reviewer/fan acts as if her career started from "Private Dancer" and dismissed the previous work.

It wouldn't surprise me to know that Tina did do drugs with Ike. He had a certain hold on her and she may have done them just to "fit in" with him. She probably did a lot of things just to please Ike back in the day. Regardless of that, I'm glad she got away from him. He was good for her music career all those years ago, but that's all he was good for! She seems happy and so in control of her life these days and that's great!

Do u guys know that she was given' originally the LEAD ROLE of The Color Purple? I neva knew that, check this, its a snippist from her interview with Larry King: KING: Her new album is "Wildest Dreams." Her tour kicks off in the United States in Houston on May 2. We're seen around the world; it should be in Australia in a couple weeks. It will end July 27 at Radio City Music Hall. She is Tina Turner, who turned down "The Color Purple." TURNER: You make it sound a little bit unkind. KING: No, I'm just asking. TURNER: Yes, you did. KING: Really, I apologize. TURNER: OK. I thought you weren't going to give me a hard time. KING: No. It said here you turned down "The Color Purple." TURNER: I denied "The Color Purple" because it was too close to my personal life. I had just left such a life, and it was too soon to be reminded of -- acting for me, I need something else. I don't need to do what I've just stepped out of. It was exciting and flattering I was asked by Mr. Spielberg, but it was the wrong movie for me at that time. KING: So no regrets over not doing it, even though it was a tremendous hit? TURNER: No. -- This is VERY intersting, but I'm glad that Whoopi took the part.

It's one of my favourite movies and one of my favourite top 10 books.

U mean Shug Avery? No, that was given to Chaka Khan but she had a car accident and they took back the offer cuz the car accident caused a scar in her lip(she was supposed to do a Coke commercial too but she got replaced with Whitney Houston after the accident).
