Jazz Track Of The Day....Horace Silver- Song For My Father Horace Silver, in addition to being a proficent pianist,...he is also one of the best composers in jazz...This song is just a timeless classic. I never get tired of hearing it. On Blue Note Records, this song is from the album Song For My Father. Warning:You may find yourself hitting repeat over and over after this song plays.
Question: How many of you Steely Dan fans know that Donald Fagen and Walter Becker lifted the piano riff on their biggest hit song..."Rikki Don't Lose This Number" from this classic jazz piece? And check out the way Horace and Co break the song down at the end until there's nothing but the drums and that awesome acoustic bass riff.
