All Alone on a Sunday Morning, Outside I see the rain is falling... I'm listening to Lisa Lisa's Greatest Hits - right now "All Cried Out" - I loved Lisa Lisa!! Can you feel the beat? I wonder if you'll take me home. Let the rain come down...17 days....

That is so strange because I was listening to the version with 112 last night.

Those are some classics. I also love "Lost In Emotion", "Head To Toe" and "Let The Beat Hit 'Em". Remember when mainstream American pop music was fun and carefree? I don't know about you, but I'd much rather listen to this sort of thing than "I'm A Slave 4 U".

That is so strange because I was listening to the version with 112 last night. Yeah that is also sung by ALLURE- A group Mariah Carey founded and was the first to sign to her now defunct label, Crave Records. Nothing beats the Lisa Lisa version! Oh and cult jam too. "LET THE BEAT HIT 'EM"!
Donald Byrd's "Think Twice" looped, with all those vocal samples pasted on top! For the 80s shit, I like "Can You Feel The Beat". "Wonder If I Take You Home" is a bit played out for me.

God does the Allure version suck compared to Lisa Lisa's. Somehow it made #4, but then Mariah's Crave imprint folded and Allure was over (they did one album for MCA). She is/was the best. J. Lo is a very poor imitation!

i just heard this song on the radio last week and it is just lame compared to the original. i don't know why mariah didn't just cover that song herself those girls sound like they are trying to be her and yes i know mariah produced it but, still. not that mariah singing it would have made it any better mind you.

My favorite Lisa Lisa and cult Jam songs...
***"Can You Feel The Beat" (1985) ***"You'll Never Change"(1985)---gotta love the spoken intro, when Lisa's man comes home late."Oh I got stuck in traffic",he says. Her reply? "Every night, you're always getting stuck into something" ***"Everything Will B-Fine"(1987) ***"Lost In Emotion"(1987) ***"I Promise You"(1987)---sounds very Princelike. The percussion on this track is explosive!

Anyone catch Lisa Lisa as a mother/witness on "Law & Order" last season? She wasn't bad. Her maturity gave her character, believability.
