Just heard George Michaels new single... on UK Radio 1 and its awful. The song is called Amazing and IMHO is anything but, think of a watered down, slowed down ballad version of Faster Love. As usual the hype's greater than the song.

let's hope the rest of the album is good.

I'll wait until I hear it for myself before I form any kind of opinion. Many people hated his last cd "songs from the last century", but I absolutely loved it. I've thoroughly enjoyed all of his solo cd's and I'm quite sure I will enjoy this next one too

A lot of George's stuff takes a while to grow on me.
I ended up liking Freeek & Shoot The Dog, too. I thought Spinning The Wheel was awful when I first heard it but it's now possibly my fave tune of his.

I love every song! I know that sounds corny, but I really do. I can't think of one song that I don't like. I listened to all of his solo work a couple of sundays ago and it just re-enforced for me how talented he is and how much I love his voice and music.

You can hear (most of) the track at www.georgemichael.com - it says it's a 30-second clip, but it played almost 3 minutes before stopping abruptly.

I'm not so fussed about the Faith album these days (although I love Father Figure, Hand To Mouth, Kissing A Fool and the title track) but Listen Without Prejudice & Older don't have a duff track on them at all. I never bought Songs From The Last Century. I did get Ladies & Gentlemen tho', because it gathered up all the singles that didn't make it onto the albums. You should try to pick up a copy at a used cd store for cheap. I'm sure you will enjoy the entire cd, especially Miss Sarajevo and First time ever I saw your face. Both are beautiful.

You can it buy it new fairly cheap these days in most stores. I'll probably check it out. I'm just not very bothered about albums of cover versions...but maybe.

Okay, I'll trust your judgement. And if I don't like it I'll make you eat it.

Of course. I nearly always play an album at least a dozen times to see if it grows on me.

So you're not going to wait until you hear it for yourself, because you've already made up your mind that you will enjoy it! ALT+PLS+RTN: Pure as a pane of ice. It's a gift.

come on, "amazing" is a gazillion billion trillion times better than those horrific last 2 singles.
it's definitely one that grows on you. but i think those are the best anyways 'cause they stick on you.

THANKS FOR THE LINK!!
I love the song Far from awful. I'm sure George haters will hate it no matter what, but I am a fan and think it is a great comeback from the last two that I just thought aws OK, filler material. Amazing, good!! ---------------------------------
Funny and charming as usual

It's pretty good- it kinda sounds like the bastard son of Careless Whisper and Fast Love... Not really quite as good as either of those songs though, but then, what is?

I quite like the song, to be honest.

I think the song is awesome, so nice to hear that voice again. I don't hear any Fast Love or anything in it myself, I can't wait for this album.

I love it! I'm one those people who didn't like Shoot the Dog and I thought Freeek was pretty forgettable. I was pretty indifferent about getting the new album but after hearing this clip I am really looking forward to it.
