Duran Duran

Ooooh, a little emphasis. batting eyes So which Duran cds do you have?

mr.green batting eyes

well actually, I've only got the Greatest Hits that came out a few years back boxed But it IS a great mix though!!! You'll have to recommend an album for me if I'm gonna get any deeper wink somink funky giggle

Aiiight. Notorious was produced by Nile Rodgers and he plays guitar on a few tracks.

You can listen to 30-second clips of each track of their cds over here:
http://entertainment.msn....100203&p=2

Check out

  • Big Thing
  • Liberty
  • Notorious

sad it wont work on my crappy modem. I'll give 'em a listen at work tomorrow! Thanks Vina! hug

ps-I'm liking these threads cos they've reminded me of 2 CDs I bought last year and filed before really listening to...

and it's good to see other peoples' lists to be reminded of all that I still need to get!

Yeah, this is kinda looking like a wrecka stow now, but without specific genres. It's cool to see other people's collections and if you come across enough that you like already, you see something you don't have and you think "Hmmm, maybe I should try some-a-dat!"

Which Duran cds do you have by the way?

redface

It's shameful...I only have Big Thing and Decade on cd!

Oh, sweetie, you GOTTA get Liberty. The 5 members at that time recorded that album RIGHT AFTER the Big Thing tour. It's one of my fave Duran cds, but Big Thing IS up there too! I think it's GREAT that you have Big Thing. It pisses me off that some people only think of Rio when it comes to Duran, like Prince with Purple Rain. Notorious is great as well, it was inspired by Parade, lots of brass in that. I'd go for Medazzaland too.

I'll check out Liberty! I really like Big Thing. It's an important CD for me...it was the first non-Prince CD I owned!!!

Oh, and when I say Delerium, I am refering to the original albums not the really awful trance remixes that became "Ibiza Anthems" spit then chart hits. Loved only by the Chavs.

Still so much to get! Still the 80s is great for record buyers. You see, the big albums of that era sold millions of copies on vinyl to people who don't have record players anymore. As the last great era of vinyl, the conditions are always good and because of the sheer ammount of unwanted vinyl, the Prices are so cheap! I got Parade for £3 for example!
