I have said to people for about 10 years now that I was afraid MJ wouldn't make it to 50, due to the horrid damage he has done to his body. Don't tell me he can do what he's done to himself and expect to live for long.

That being said, if he does go to jail, which is STILL unlikely (regardless of the merits of the charges), I doubt he'll be killed.

Prisoners don't look kindly upon child killers/abusers and many of them end up being murdered. I'm sure he'd be pampered and protected though.

I dunno, supposedly this judge is supposed to be a tough, no-nonsense type of judge, and Mike is already starting off on a bad foot. This trial may be different from all of the other celebrity trials because supposedly they have proof. They wouldn't put formal charges against him without it.

I really hope he didn't do it. I don't know, he's got issues.

Well, O.J Simpson got acquitted, and they basically had an extremely solid case against him. I don't know how strong their evidence against MJ is, but it will have to be dazzling for any real action to be taken against him.

How do you figure that the prosecution had an extremely solid case against OJ? Not in a court of law, maybe in the court of public opinion. The facts remain, no one saw either victim get killed, no one can place OJ at the scene of the crime, no one found a murder weapon, there wasn't any of the victims blood found at OJ's house, OJ volunteered to give a blood sample and the prosecution could not account for the entire sample that he submitted (which could explain why there were drops in his driveway and foyer), it was proven by blood splatter experts that the blood found on OJ's socks were planted (therefore it questions the validity of any evidence), and the star witness, Furhman, purjered himself on the stand! Not an extremely solid case in my opinion. And for the record, I would have found OJ INNOCENT in the CRIMINAL PROCEEDINGS (based on reasonable doubt)and GUILTY in the CIVIL TRIAL (based on proponderonse of evidence)! He presented a much stronger case in the criminal case than the civil. I did not weigh my decisiona on tabloids and CNN, just what was presented in court. (And before anyone says was I there, all court proceedings are public record and available for viewing unless sealed, which they are not.)

Well, that's true, but some media reports speculate that his new ties to the Nation of Islam were forged in anticipation of possible jail time. They have a very strong presence in American prisons and would protect him.

disbelief My goodness, are we really talking about Michael Jackson needing protection in prison?

If MJ is going to jail, I couldn't care less what happens to him in there. If he's going, it will be because he then is proven guilty. How fellow inmates react to child-molesters is common knowledge, MJ should have thought of that beforehand!

Give me a break. More than likely (hopefully), MJ will be acquitted and the whole thing will disintergrate in a matter of months. pray

If not, MJ won't even be put in "jail", but in a confined home: a shopping mall-sized cell with all the fixin's. nod
They did WHAT??!.... disbelief

I really really WANT to believe that MJ is innocent, but it gets harder and harder to do that. This case is so tragic and unfortunate.Even if he is innocent and gets acquitted,so much damage has been done. There would be no point in making a new CD after all this.He should just sell his Beatles catalog and go retire somewhere.

Davideye, you took the words right out of my mouth. I'm having a hard time believing that he would sexually abuse a child, but I've heard that there is solid evidence against him that will come out at trial. His publicity stunt the other day was sickening. Watching him dance on top of the vehicle was enough to make me want to bitch-slap him for hours. He is living in a complete dream world. Guilty or not, he is doing more damage to himself by acting like such an idiot and so non-chalant about what is happening.
