all hail YOSHIMI!!!!!

ok. The Flaming Lips YOSHIMI BATTLES THE PINK ROBOTS has hit me like a ton of bricks. Incredible record!! I understand now why it was on all the year end lists from critics for 2002. Such a great album... took me about 2 or 3 listens and then i was just hooked. Now I have to go out and get all their older stuff. Any Flaming Lips fans?

The only other CD i have by them is the Soft Bulletin, which is awesome... but Yoshimi is another level. Trust me, it's worth getting if you like the Soft Bulletin.

Jon, ya beat me to it.
I LOVE YOSHIMI. The Soft Bulletin is really good, but Yoshimi definitely takes you higher. I fell in love with the entire album in late 2002 a few months after it came out. This album makes me proud to be a musician. It also reminds you that there is wonderful, fresh, new music being made nowadays, we just have be open minded and look around. This is the Flaming Lips' masterpiece. woot!

I couldn't have said it better. At first i avoided it, because it looked like some kind of weird techno-flavored concept album. it's not... it's amazingly innovative and melodic and very human and deeply felt. a great record.
