Worst song of 2003

Runners-up:

Kelis - "Milkshake"
Snoop Dogg - "Beautiful"
Jet - "Are You Gonna Be My Girl"
Saddle Club - "Wonderland"
50 Cent - "In Da Club"

(i know i can think of more, there were some terrible songs this year)

My vote for the worst song of 2003 goes to:

"Behind Blue Eyes" - Limp Bizkit

Hilariously, disturbingly terrible. I learnt to play this one on guitar for the sheer irony of the thing.

No-one knows what it's like
To feel these feelings like I do

Poetry... touched

Tell me what y'all think.

Not "worst song". The song, as originally performed by the mighty Who is excellent. Limp Fred's version of it is torture to the ears...

Is it a cover? I had no idea. Maybe it would've been passable in the 70's and with the right musicmanship.

Some song (I don't even know the name of it it's just that horrible) by some chick named Lamidee or something like that. I think Busta Rhymes and Fabolous were on it.

Through The Rain, Whatchulookinat, and I'm Glad were all songs that were released on CD in 2002 (on Charmbracelet, Just Whitney, and This Is Me...Then respectively).

But the question was not "worst single" of 2003, but "worst song". These are 2002 songs is all I'm sayin'.

Mariah saw October-December 2002 radio play for Through The Rain (although it didn't chart until sales kicked in for a few weeks, peaking at 81). However, it did chart on the AC charts in 2002 so I really wouldn't consider that a 2003 song, especially considering Billboard's chart rules (radio play accounts for most chart points). Once it's shipped to radio it's a single and that's the year of its release (as a single). IDJ/Monarc was planning a commercial single for November, but hastily withdrew it when the track failed at radio. Later, it was rescheduled as a half-assed cheapie in Feb.

I'm Glad was readily available on This Is Me...Then in 2002. A 2003 single, yes. But a song that was released in 2002.

Whatchulookinat was originally released to radio (and as a commercial single) in August 2002, actually. It was quickly withdrawn and failed entirely so they started to promote One Of Those Days and when that failed they went to Try It On My Own. Later, they served the clubs with some bland remixes.

Because labels basically don't release commercial singles in the US anymore (and when they do, it's 3-4 months after radio impact date, usually), it's pretty inaccurate to use those as reference points for single release dates.
