Madonna's "Love Profusion" to be US single Source: http://www.madonnapolis.com/News.htm
Love Profusion to be released in US Love Profusion is going to be released on January 27th, in the US, according to Peter Rauhofer's site. With Nothing Fails not gathering any momentum, Madonna's camp is looking to push Love Profusion, which had its video released a couple of weeks ago. This will coincide with the Estee Lauder commercial (which uses Love Profusion as its theme), being shown in February. I went into an Abercrombie & Fitch today to check out the boys (That'd be the only reason I EVER go into that place!), and they were pumping some amazing new Madonna track. It made me kinda sad that she's fallen off so badly that I'm not even aware of her newer stuff -- and I actually like her. Has she finally become passe? Ὅσον ζῇς φαίνου

January 27th! They released "Nothing Fails" as a single on December 9th (or around then), right? Wow! Anyway, it is looking desperate (I'm shocked that no one gave "Nothing Fails" a shot but I think they were pushing a remix without the choir). Also, I find it "Amazing" that they put out four maxi singles (five if you count "Die Another Day", which you kind of can't since it came out so long before the album and was a James Bond theme) yet they only released 3 singles off of "Music", which had some very commerical sounding dance songs (I never understood their argument about "Impressive Instant" being too odd for radio). And the 3 "Music" singles were hits (two huge and one moderate). Warners makes no sense! No wonder she wants to leave.
BTW, how have the singles been doing over seas. I know that "American Life" was a number one in hit a few countries...including Canada but it only reached number 2 in the UK since it charted kind of early when some stores got the single in early. I would really like to know where I could see those numbers. | |

Madonna should stop with releasing new singles and maxi singles of remixed Hollywood and Into The Hollywood Groove on it!
She should just stop all together on promoting the american life album...warn- a- brutha...ain't doing shyt these days!!! Girl get a new label and release some new music...without the techno theme... Mirwais is a genius...when it came to the hit 'MUSIC'...but its over...unless he can come with another 'MUSIC' joint!!! Maddy...call up Missy, Neptunes, and some old friends like David Foster, Babyface and maybe Lenny Kravitz! Like get Lenny to rock out on guitar and duet with you!!! Neptunes would love to reinvent Madonna and Missy just Loves you!!! So get over the failed success of American Life and Move on to something new and refreshing thats HIP and POP...no more Techno experiments...Dance/Pop/Hip-Hop/R&B always worked in the past for Madonna...so perhaps it can get her a hit in the 2004! Maybe she'd have more luck if she just went into the studio
and recorded a new album. Something that was less electronic and featured some long and deep lyrics again, instead of 4 lines which are kept repeated throughout the entire songs. Once that's finished, just pick one damn song to be the album's first single, make a kick ass video and stick to that. Promote it and ship it to radio and tv and have a decent single with some non album b-side track(s) and not just 7 shitty remixes. and true love lives on lollipops and crisps | |

When the EP came out, on that day (or day after) she was on Leno and it was never mentioned. This might be the work of Warners but I don't understand why since they aren't really trying to push the songs on radio at all and she isn't out there talking about the CD. If anything. this is an attempt to squezze money out of Madonna fans to make up for the difference. Shit. you know we'll buy it. I've bought every Madonna single after "American Pie" (I only bought one of the two imports) except for "Die Another Day". If you're a Madonna completist, think about it. You bought the oringinal album or the Deluxe Edition AL:$9.99-$29.99 The Normal AL single:$2.99 Three maxi singles (AL, H, and NF):$6.99*3=20.97 AL Revisted...:$6.99-$10.99 That can add up to as much as $65 without tax or at the bare minimum over $40 if you bought the major discs on sale and only opted for the regular album. Ain't cheap! And that still doesn't include this new single! | |

One thing you guys have to realize is,Madonna's singles are still doing well on the Dance music charts.So,maybe that's why she keeps releasing all these maxi-singles and numerous remixes.I doubt that anyone in her camp or at Warners truly expects "Love Profusion" to creep into the Top 40 on the pop charts.It's really just something to tide her fans over until the next album.Madonna releases a new album every two years,and every album has at least four singles,so the pattern for 'American Life' has been consistent with her other CDs.
I'm one of those Madonna fans that buys EVERYTHING so I have no problem with yet another set of remixes | |

Also, the tough part of being a great chameleon like Madonna is that eventully you run out of colors. She's done saccharine pop. She's done hip hop. She's done techno... to death. I think it's time for her to transform again -- this time into lusher orchestrations, more acoustic instrumentations and the lyrics of a mature artist, a 40-something mother and a woman who's effectively ruled the pop cultural world for two decades... It may sound boring, but I'd honestly like to see her work with a lyricist like Joni Mitchell (of whom she's a big fan). If you've ever read Joni's lyrics, they read like social critiques or short fiction -- full of thoughtful words, not repeated phrases, but they're rarely pretentious and self-involved. I'd love to hear how she could help Madonna flesh out the messages she scratched the surface of on Ray of Light. As music goes, I also would like to see Madonna turn to sounds other than what's currently trendy. Hold off on the electronic stuff, Missy, the Neptunes and ESPECIALLY that tired-ass Lenny Kravitz! She could hit us with one or two kick-ass dance tracks just to show us she's still there, but I'd like to hear her experiment with experimental fusion sounds like MeShell's or Peter and Vanessa Daou's on the funky side, or a Dido/Natalie Merchant sort of vibe on the introspective side. Also, though I definitely DON'T want her to get fixed in it (I'm even hesitant to suggest it), I'd be interested in hearing a reference to the newer R&B sound on one track... maybe a SINGLE duet with someone respected in the neo-soul world, yet wierd enough that he's not at all defined by its derivative parameters. By the way, I called A&F and I guess the song they were playing is "Nothing Fails." I checked the first few seconds of the album version on a fileshare site, but it sounded too subdued -- nothing like I heard. What are the huge clubby mixes of that song? i'd really really really like for her to do a new album right away, and work with those Headcleanr people and whoever the Mount Sims people are. both have a retro sound that works surprisingly well, one being rock and the other synth-pop. those things, in my opinion, were the best remixes that came out of this project, and i think alternating work between those 2 camps would mesh surprisingly well on the next Madonna album. i think that is a great idea. i would love to see madonna develop more, in that way. unfortunately, joni mitchell is one of those music snobs who thinks nobody is as good as her and her crew. i once read an interview with her (rolling stone maybe or details) that she doesn't like anyone in pop music. she said sheryl crow is a joke. madonna was a disgrace. she went to talk a bunch about geffen records. all in all, she seemed really bitter and self involved, which was really sad considering the subject matter in her work. | |

Whatever direction Madonna decides to go in,she should definitely work with more than ONE producer for the next CD.Mirwais is extremely talented,but,by now,it's clear that he has run out of ideas.I'd like for Maddy to make a diverse,soulful album with more real instruments and less techno.These are the folks she should consider working with...
***Jamiroquai---listen to their last album 'A Funk Odyssey'.These guys have a cool,retro funk sound.Madonna could do a couple of kickass dance tracks with these guys. ***Remy Shand---he's really talented and not yet a big star.That's a plus,because Madonna usually likes to work with people who have YET to make it big.The two of them could come up with several midtempo tracks,with Remy adding background vocals,or possibly a duet.I get chills just thinking about a collaboration like this! ***Dallas Austin---Madonna worked with him on the 'Bedtime Stories' album and the two of them came up with great songs like "Secret".Why not explore that sound a little more? Record a handful of tracks with those guys and she would have a great album.But knowing Madonna,she'll probably work with someone we've never heard of. | |

Warners dropped "Music" after "What it Feels Like For A Girl", which was extermly odd since it had much more commerical sounding songs on there. Plus. "What.." was a slight hit, even if it was more like a ballad compared to "Music" and "Don't Tell Me". So it really isn't consistant. Plus, two singles in less than two months? That just isn't normal. I think WB is trying to push the single again since some of their artists are getting airplay. Jewel also has a new single out for "2 Beomce 1". I've never even heard of her previous single "Stand", which is out in two forms! | |

I think I remember a Madonna interview where she talked about really being involved in the remixes (as far as what stays, what goes and who). This interivew was done around the time "Secret" came out and those remixes are nothing short of remarkable (if you ask me). The Rauhofer/Oakenfield/Headcleaner crap we can do without (although I really liked several of the AL remixes). | |

Amazing was selected by them as the next single, and they even sent a promo out for it in Europe. Madonna wanted to do Impressive Instant instead, and she put their foot down over it. she even removed Amazing from the DWT setlist to keep Warner from getting ideas about doing a live video for it. a compromise was reached by making Impressive Instant an club-only promo single. further plans to do Runaway Lover were abandoned (though Calderone and Tracy Young had both already done remixes for it).
