Whether band or duo, one half made it, the other half didn't.

John Oates. And the guy was just as talented as his partner, Daryl Hall, but I guess he couldn't thrive without him. lol

Actually, Jazzy Jeff is rather successful, running his Touch of Jazz production company in Philly. Two of his associates, Vidal Davis and Andre Harris, have produced Michael Jackson ("Butterflies"), Floetry, Glenn Lewis, Musiq, and Alicia Keys, among others.

I agree with the John Oates comment -- he is a very talented musician and songwriter.
