I'm creating this thread for the purpose of praising this song--after all these years and Maddonna transformations, it is still one of my favorite Madonna songs...

For some reason,alot of people (even fans) dismiss this song.I guess they think it's just pop fluff,but I like it alot.It's a sincere little pop ballad.Did you ever see the movie "Vision Quest"? Madonna appears in the film,singing this song and "Gambler" during a nightclub scene.It's kinda funny the way "Crazy For You" pops up in the film over and over,and they keep playing the same part...

Crazy for you and Holiday are still 2 of my favorites from Madonna...

Yeah,the version in the movie must be an early demo version.It's not as "glossy" as the version that became a single.

I never thought much of "Crazy For You". Not by any means a favorite but it is a nice pop song. I always prefered the dance rocker "Gambler" and wish it were a single.

i remember it getting some airplay in the U.S. but yeah I don't think it was officially a single...I sort of remember it was played around the time they started playing "Sidewalk Talk" even though that was recorded a lot earlier in the 80s but didn't get airplay until 1985.

I definitely feel that "Crazy For You" is essential Madonna.

Glad that Immaculate Collection didn't leave it off like other 1985-era singles ("Dress You Up", "Angel").

Crazy for You is a beautiful song. When I think of great songs from the 80s, this is one of the first that comes to mind.

I am not a huge Madonna fan, but I have always loved this song. I also like "take a bow" (i think that's the correct title).

I agree with this. The Holiday Collection tries to reconcile the exclusion of those chart-toppers from The Immaculate Collection, but still managed to leave out other crucial singles.

Maybe we need another companion EP to the campanion EP.. "The Angel Collection"

Would have been cool to have Q-Sound 3-dimensional stereo mixes (as presented on Immaculate), of all the excluded singles, on a second volume.

That's a last chance-slow dance record. Great record for couples skating at roller rinks. One of my favorite Madonna slow songs. "Someting To Remember" is one of my favorite albums by her.

At the time, I just loved that song but my family really didn't use their record player (a crime if there ever was one altough my mom did buy several major eighties albums that remain unopened including "Thriller", Whitney's second and the first by Culture Club) so I never bought the album back then.

And the AMG review says that "The Holiday Collection" has all the songs as they appear on the albums but that is kind of untrue. If anyone has both the WTG soundtrack and "Holiday...", listen to "Causing A Commutation" and you'll notice a slight difference in the fact that there appear to be more keyboards that create a very catchy sound in "The Holiday Collection" verison while the album/soundtrack verison kind of ends with a thud. It just sounds like it was mixed better while the other one sounds a little more like a demo. Cinister could probably describe it better than I could if he has heard it. I also believe "The Holiday Collection" verison In short, "Holiday" verison is better and I think the one that was played on radio.

hate it. if i never hear this song again, i won't miss it. it's the most overplayed recurrent Madonna song ever.

I've never been a fan of her pop ballads. i think the only one i like is take a bow...oh, and rain and live to tell. but i think that's it. i love her slow songs that don't sound so pop-ish, though.

I'm not that fond of her "I Want You" but it's good. I prefer "You'll See", which was the best way (well, besides "Evita") to put an end the Adult Contemperary/Easy Listening Madonna era that lasted for a few years.

I never understood why the sultry remix of "Love Don't Live Here..." wasn't on the album and they opted for the original LAV verison.

The best song off the album is "This Used to Be My Playground", which thankfully finally got a showcase here but I would have prefered the long verison.
