Mark Morrison, "Return of the Mack"

Who remembers this song? I absolutely loved it! I haven't heard it in years before I burned it onto a CD the other day, and my friends and I were driving around blasting it. It was great!
'Cause your friends don't dance, and if they don't dance... well, they're no friends of mine.

Great song but I hate the fact that DJs don't play the female monolouge ("Mark, stop talking about your big break...") in it just because she says "For God's sake" (and the media isn't conservtive!). I love that part it sounds terrible when they edit it becuase you can hear her talking and then they cut it. The song that Bobby Brown should have done in 1997 although I can't imagine his vocals on there (not that the vocals are great but Bobby's are...well).

Cinister's definitely right. I don't know where the discrepancies came in, but Morrison's tune obviously borrows from Tom Tom Club's Genius of Love.

Bullshit, don't you realize that you are saying right now that 'Return Of The Mack' has the same beat as Mariah Carey's 'Fantasy'? That song was ripped from 'Genius Of Love'!

Who said anything about "Fantasy"?

I posted the drums from Tom Tom Club "Genius Of Love" which Mark Morrison "Return Of The Mack" used.

Yes, coincidentally, Mariah and co. also used those same drums along with the main riff/lyrics from "Genius of Love" [1981].
