Whatever happened to Frankie Beverly and Maze?

Yesterday,I was listening to their 1981 hit "Running Away"(my favorite song by them) and I was wondering what happened to them.Did they disband?

Other great songs by them that I LOVE...

"The Look In Your Eyes" (dontcha just love the intro?)
"Feel That You're Feeling"
"Golden Time Of Day"
"Before I Let Go"
"Can't Get Over You"

Any other fans of this great band?

Oh my GOODNESS. I was JUST listening to "Golden Time of Day" and "Happy Feelin's" like, 10 minutes ago!!!
Last I heard, they still tour and headline at different music festivals. I remember seeing them when they came to Columbus back in '93 and Toni Braxton opened. NICE. One day, I'm gonna do a remake of "Golden Time of Day". That tune is beautiful.

If U live in the states U can still catch them live.
I myself can only dream about that they will come 2
europe.Funny U mention that intro 2 "The look in your eyes"
cuz that´s my favourite part of Maze, especially that
version from "Live in New Orleans" 1981.
I also dig "I wanna thank you"

Maze use to come to Washington D.C 7 or 8 times a year. They have not done a show in D.C in a long time but, I am sure they are on the road somewhere. Mind boggling they do not have a recording contract.

Gotta admit, I was never a big fan. But, I did dance to their music. "Before I Let Go" is like a club anthem. I couldn't go to Bentley's or the Silver Shadow without hearing this cut. The dj would always turn the volume down and let the crowd sing the "Oh-oh-oooh-Oh..." part. smile

They seem to come here (Detroit) a lot, too. I've seen them twice in the past eight years or so.

Yes, their not being good would explain why they sell out
10,000.00 seat venues and have not had a new recording out in over ten years. Gee, I guess people shell out money to see acts that suck over and over again for the hell of it.

If you don't like their style of music that's cool but, try to know a little bit about what you are talking about sometime.
