Beyonce pulls a THIRD top ten hit from Dangerously In Love

her lacklustre album.

Meanwhile, Kelis sinks from 27 to the mid-50s on the Billboard 200. That I just don't understand - it's a great album.

I was hoping that "Tasty" would be a breakout hit, but apparently not.

First thing I heard from Beyonce solo was a download of her
performance of "Dangerously In Love" and I thought it was
fantastic.

Eventhough I hated the single "Crazy in Love", I got her
album a while after it was released and have just listened
to it three times but still don't like more than 2 songs.

It's just not very entertaining to me.

I think this has to do with the fact that Beyonce is everywhere you look and while Kelis is more popular than she was, she certainly isn't everywhere. Sometimes I think that people buy what they know more than they buy what is good.

Beyonce has a strong CD for a pop record. Whether or not some would say she is "overexposed" is irrelevant. Its still a good pop record. I too disliked Crazy In Love, but I bought the CD after hearing "Speechless" and "Me, Myself and I". I don't regret the purchase ONE BIT. She actually DESERVES to be where she is, which is more than I can say for SO MANY of her contemporaries.
Kelis is waste of good talent. After her first album, I have dspised every hook she has sung on rap records. They are ALWAYS weak. She even does it on her own records (Milkshake). I thought "Kaleidoscope had some promise with "Caught Out There" an so did "Wanderland" with "Young Fresh and New", but as for what record companies are looking for in a pop artist, Kelis is not as qualified for that title. Beyonce is. Kelis ultimately blows her own press by dropping songs ike Milkshake when she can actually sing. Maybe she needs Missy Elliot behind her, writing her vocal arrangements?

No justice is there? "Tasty" is an absolutely great album, almost every song on it superb.

Beyonce's debut is primarily the work of a marketing, PR and corporate finance executive, with hers and a few guest vocals thrown in. In short, boring and predictable. And it sucks.

I don't understand why "Tasty" isn't selling that well considering my friend and her sister both bought a copy on the same day and had trouble finding it. The clerk told my sister's friend it was relly selling well. Maybe they don't have a lot of copies out there.

I just got "Tasty" for Christmas and I can't stop listening to it. Aside from Outkast, it's one of the best albums in a looong time.
'Cause your friends don't dance, and if they don't dance... well, they're no friends of mine.

fauxnewbie

Beyonce is an ok bubblegum artist. She looks good and she's definitely in the right place at the right time.

As far as the music goes, she's completely unremarkable. Vocally also. Just a typical warbler without any real control over her voice. Too many notes and not a quick enough throat to do it effectively.

Anyways, it matters not really. She has her place and I certainly don't mind her doing well now. She won't create any lasting impression in music. Many more Beyonce's to come in the future, and all of them completely disposable pop products. But that's the way it is. If she were to try to sing soul she might do something.
