hi guy's i'm sure there's been loads o joni threads b4 , but i felt compelled 2 add another !!!

my cuz neil nagged me 4 years bout joni , and i just never got round 2 listening 2 her. he played me a dodgy 83 live cover of a case of u by prince the 5th avenue 1, i think ? (many many times),i couldnt get in2 it b'cos the sound was'nt great !,but when p covered this song properly on the piano album NOW !!! that was sensational , weird in that its 1 o my all time fave p tracks and he didnt bloody write it , think of all p's great songs !!! hundreds !!! and ive got a cover right up there !!!

well ive now bought 6 joni albums i kno ! i kno ! ive still got a long way 2 go !, i knew nothing bout joni but i did suss the following 1. she musta had a hard life 2 b able 2 write blue ! and 2. she musta been a painter/artist b'cos her album covers wer terriffic ! that was all i knew / sumised.

now while searching 4 a book bout joni i found the following !

joni a life story on dvd titled woman of heart and mind .

now wota hard life she has in fact had ! , her whole life is in song, she was suffering from depression when she wrote blue , but .. she came across as a wonderful human being !!! a beautiful person a sensational singer songwriter !!! she speaks about making music which takes u away ! takes u somewhere else ! boy did she succeed , i remember listening 2 blue and that album awoke every emotion in my body it made me feel amazing special and very emotional ! just like wen i saw p on the lovesexy tour ! she took me 2 an undescribable place a magical place within my heart i just felt something totally awsome and very very special !!!

so my org friends any1 who loves music,and life ! if u havent checked out joni , u gotta do it in NOW !!!

i do listen to opera. and i am a jazz fan as well. but i didn't mean you have to listen to her. it is just the same response that I have when people tell me they don't like to read. I didn't mean to offend.

She is my mother in song and I have all of her releases on vinyl. One night I set out to transfer some tunes and make a "My Best of Joni CD" for the road... I just couldn't do it. I soon found myself recording entire sides of albums and I didn't make it past 1975's Hissing Of Summer Lawns.
