to Virgin for giving short thrift to their hottest property. Save for a short segment that offers vague details about an upcoming album, the site basically has not been updated since 2001. Someone needs better promotion. Even Mariah has a better website.

Definitely. Janet's official site is by far the worst Janet site. Virgin really neglects her, and she's their biggest star.

Last year I downloaded lots of remixes and non album tracks from what I thought was Janet's official site (janet-love). Wasn't it?

I thought it was so cool from her.

Most label-owned sites suck. They're great when the album first comes out...couple months later..total neglect..they're on to the next big record, hype, up-and-comers. They tend to trust that their 'marquee' artists will do fine. This backfired majorly with the last Lenny record and even the current Perfect Circle record isn't doing so well...But I do hear the initial marketing campaign for the new Janet record is massive.

Considering that Virgin has become more of an "Artist Development" label with a ton of new artists they are working/focusing to break (Stacie Orrico, Jin, Thrills, Ima Robot, N.E.R.D.)..I'm sure we'll all be bored with the JJ site after a couple months and move back to more fan-oriented, devoted sites like Janet-Zone, or Miss-Janet...I think those are a couple of them...

Aren't almost all official websites for artists a bit shite? They're always a bunch of flashy designs and basic info like lyrics, overused pictures in galleries and discographies. Large organised fansites are always the best.
