It's A Stevie Wonderful Life I wish I had time to go see this "In a riotously funny and irreverent spin, director Matt Walker has taken Frank Capra's It's A Wonderul Life and pegged it to the music of Stevie Wonder, th eresults being a Yuletide stroy that you're not likely to forget. Wa;ler portrays businessman George Bailey-sporting a full afro-whose dreams of college and travelling the world are tanked when he gets mired in th e ridiculous goings-on in his hometown of Bedford Falls, whose residents would be perfect candidates for an asylum or a circus. The most notable of these is th e miserly, wheelchair-bound tycoon, Mr. Potter ( the hilarious Morgan Rusler). Gags, jokes, and spectacle drive most of Act 1, but in Act 2, when George's bank is on the brink and he decides to end it all, gaurdian angel Clarence (Michelle Anne Johnson) steps in and shows ol' George what things would be like without him. The ensemble's performances are something special, particularly when they're singing Wonder-ful gems like "Part Time Lover" and "Superstition." Musicians Andre P. Holmes, Dexter L. Johnson, Eddie L. Spencer Jr. and Eric S. Heinly rock the house and Sharon McGunigle's collage of costumes is stunning. Troubadour Theater Compnay at th e Falcon Theater, 4252 Riverside Dr., Burbank; Tues.-Sat., 8 p.m.; Sun., 4p.pm (no perfs Dec. 24-25); thru Dec. 28. (818) 955-8101" "Climb in my fur."

This almost sounds like one of them ghetto fabolous, (okay, urban) off-off-off-Broadway plays by, say, Shelly Garrett, that usually end up playing at the Beacon Theatre in NYC.
