My moment of hip-hop hypocrisy: Raekwon's "Diamond Lex Story" is a BANGER.

Maybe it's because he's so clever w/lyrics, maybe it's because the beats are hot, maybe it's because he flips these lyrics more like he's in a movie or a fantasy than trying to pose for real, but this is one of if not THE best hip-hop album of the year.

I hate the thug life/gangsta stuff for the most part, but this album is hot.

Did I mention that Cuban Linx is one of the greatest hip-hop CD's ever?

Which is why I like you, because I feel the exact same way.

While we're on the subject, I'm curious as to your opinion on something. Out of all of the Wu-Tang projects which do you think is the best? For me it's like this:

1. Raekwon - Only Built 4 Cuban Linx
2. Wu-Tang Clan - Enter The Wu-Tang
3. GZA - Liquid Swords
4. Ghostface Killah - Supreme Clintele
5 (tie). Ghostface Killah - Ironman
Dirty Ol' Bastard - Return To The 36 Chambers

Right on! My list is the same (except I never ever had Liquid Swords album omfg). I like Ironman and Return To The 36 Chambers more than Method Man's debut for sure!

I never really cared for any of Meth's solo joints. Which is somewhat disappointing considering that I think he has the tightest flow in all of Shaolin.

But definitely check out 'Liquid Swords'. It's worth it for 'Shadowboxing' alone. This cut shows Meth at his best.

I'd agree in principle with that list. Altho I honestly believe that on 3 listens, Lex Diamond Story is superior to ODB and probably GZA's LP.

Funny, I thought Meth had the most solo potential at the outset, and then Rae floored me. It took some time to catch on the Ghost, but I dig that cat immensely now.
