It's just you. defintely just you... there is no way to overrate the rolling stones... i give total respect to all the bluesmen who laid the foundations for rock & roll, and to ike turner, little richard & chuck berry who were the first straight-up rockers... but the rolling stones perfected it... they took that shit to a whole new level... you listen to "sway" on "sticky fingers"... right as mick taylor is bending that last note on the guitar solo, and keith is chugging away... and the string section swells, and charlie gives one of his patented drum-rolls... and then mick jagger comes in "hey, hey, nowww-yooowww"... that is it... that's the best, right there... with the exception of james brown, nobody has ever put that much soul and emotion into a scream like that... it's just so poignant that you forget that really all he said was "hey hey now", which is really anything but deep...
