How often do you buy CDs? I've noticed, since I've been at the org, that a lot of you seem to get all the new releases as soon as they come out. Do you really spend all your hard earned cash on new music? As for me, I can only afford 1 or 2 CDs every month. In any case and out of interest...
How often do you buy NEW or SECOND HAND CDs? Please pick one: 1. 0-2 a month 2. More than two a month 3. 2 a week 4. More than 2 a fortnight 5. Several a week 6. Several a month 7. Other

I buy more damn CDs than should be allowed by law. I've been trying to cut back, especially with the holidays and all, and even though I've done a good job of it, I still buy a ridiculous amount of music. Though to my credit, I do have an odd talent of finding new releases for cheep in the used bins. I bought two double-disc CDs and a new DVD last weekend for $37 and some change. I was a proud little consumer warrior.

I have a compact disc habit. I buy about 2 disc a week. I'm usually buying some obscure piece of music that I'm unable to find in the lame music stores here, so I gotta order it online for an enormous price along with ernormous shipping fees.

mrdespues said: How often do you buy NEW or SECOND HAND CDs? Please pick one: 6. Several a month That's me. But I've never bought a used cd. I would if I couldn't find the one I wanted new, but only if I couldn't. I have several cd's I bought long ago (in some cases years) and never listened to them in their entirety yet. This post not for the wimp contingent. All whiny wusses avert your eyes.

Everytime a P2P software house get taken down! It takes me a few weeks to settle into a new one, so I have to buy! Seriously, the internet has cut back my CD spending dramatically. Its the perfect "try before you buy" tool. If I do love an album, I ALWAYS go and buy an original. Downloading allows me to avoid some of the crap I used to waste money on. .

What were those, out of interest? High Llamas' "Retrospective" best-of compilation and the (supposedly) out-of-print two-disc special edition of High Llamas' "Hawaii" album (I'm on a kick right now, I can't help it). And the DVD was the new David Cross "Make America Laugh" documentary.

I used 2 buy 2 or 3 a week back before I moved to Atlanta. Now with having to pay rent and all It's more like 2 a month if that. I usually try to go used (cuz you can buy more this way!) but sometimes I opt 4 a new 1. And with some of the new releases like the latest Sting and OUtkast stuff, you gotta get it new because no one's sold it back yet.
It's cool to see that people here buy a lot of CD's. Most people I know aren't like that, even some of my musician friends. This one guitar player I knew back in NY told me he hadn't bought a CD in over 2 years!!

I very seldom buy new cd's. In fact, I bet I buy no more than 2-3 new cd's a year. I always buy my cd's at my local mom and pop used cd store. Within a few short weeks they always have what I want much cheaper than buying brand new. For example, I got No Doubt singles collection for $9.99 the other day. It's selling for $14.99 at HMV
