I finally got to see it.

I feel a conversion coming on...

"Inside Bjork" is a great documentary, and it was brilliant of her to have it available at such an affordable price. By all means, if you don't have it already, plunk down the bucks for the Live Box - it's wonderful.

I know, I've got sooo much catching up to do.

I should have bought it this past weekend. My boyfriend works at Borders and they had an Employee dicount day of 40% off cds. doh!

Even though the Vespertine live CD in the Live Box seems to be little more than an audio dub of the live DVD from the same tour, I can't get enough of it and I tend to listen to the CD more than I watch the DVD. Maybe it's an earphones thing, I dunno, but it's just delicious.

That's my fave too. The sound is so unreal.

CinisterCee

Recorded Inside Bjork off the TV last year and shared it with my friends and family (who knew a handful of Bjork's greatest hits).

Does a great job of explaining why she is so dope... her talent, her inspiration, her creativity.

Perfect documentary for fans and newbies alike! If there is anyone who doesn't quite "get" her, then Inside Bjork will make them "get it".

I was literally trembling while I was watching it. Weird huh? Kinda embarassed to say. Anyway, I thought about you while I was watching it and how you said her show was sooo incredible and it made you feel all these emotions at once, i.e. wanting to laugh, scream, cry, fuck and dance all at the same time or something to that effect. I totally understand.

Incidently, my man and I had a nice love-making session after watching it. wink

lol

She is really sexy. Apart from her beautiful, flawless image in magazines and videos, when she was speaking about her music and she was natural, she was really, really sexy.

Such strength. I noticed some lines in her face that are usually covered by makeup, but they intrigued me. I wouldn't call them wrinkles and they were minimal, but I noticed them. I was pleased to see her so relaxed, speaking about her music and her creative expression. She reminded me of someone I used to know and admire. So she became more human to me, as opposed to some alien creature. But she is still out of this world.

She is beyond the beyond. What an inspiration.

Wow, you're really feeling her lately. What do you have by her so far? Maybe this would be the right time for us to trade. I've always related to Bjork. The way she thinks musically is very close to how I do. But the book that comes with her live box set is the closest I've ever come to "knowing" her. She's very direct and honest about her work and it's easier to understand than ever before, just from reading it. After you have all the albums, you should definitely check it out.

biggrin

I remember a few years ago when I saw that special on Bravo. I thought she was totally cool. I just hadn't explored the depth of her creativity any further. She's brilliant.

I only have the albums and a few singles. Not too much else. I bought Family Tree. I need the live box set, I know. I'm about to get all the dvds as money allows.

Yes, we need to get to some trading soon. But then again, I may burst from all the excitement!

hmmm You and Bjork think the same musically huh? Now I REALLY want to hear what you do! Well, I have to say I've always had the urge to create music that is both electronic and acoustic. I love music, period, so I've always had ideas for odd instrument combinations. I love movie scores and New Age music, so my first compositions were instrumentals. Even though I was only using a synthesizer, I used more "natural" sounds like strings, clarinets, pianos and harpsichords.

Watching this documentary, I really related to her as well. She's basically doing things that I've wanted to do, but she can go sooo much farther with it with that voice and that imagination. Also, they were talking about her "almost pagan" ideas and I used to practice wicca and teach tarot and astrology. She's just so primal and pure. She's soo childlike, yet fierce. I want to get more in touch with that part of myself.

I was reading the description of the Jools Holland dvd and I'm like "Fuck YEAH!" radically re-worked from the original album versions; for Hyperballad she is accompanied by electra strings; 'Venus As A Boy' with Guy Singworth on harpsichord; 'Possibly Maybe' with a full band featuring legendary slide guitarist BJ Cole; 'Bachelorette' and 'Hunter' with Icelandic Octec and Mark Bell, 'Joga' with Icelandic Octec and 'So Broken' accompanied by world famous Flamenco guitarist Raimundo Amador.

That's what its all about. Who else puts so much thought into their music?

I remember watching the MTV unplugged a looong time ago and it really struck me. Just awesome instrumentation.

I don't know what the heck took me so long.

Her vibe is infectious. My friend was telling about a program that recently came on tv about stalkers & how this one guy sent her a sulfuric acid bomb and then killed him self. He documented his meltdown on video including his suicide. Luckily interpol intercepted the package before it reach her, the courier was loading the truck to deliver it when they arrived. eek

Vina ~ I'm so excited for you. She is the most amazing artist and Inside Bjork is pure wonderment (just like her music). I have always believed that things happen exactly the way they are supposed to and you have probably gotten into her at just the right time. Maybe for your own growth, or to further your creative journey or a million other reasons. I was WAY older than you when I first heard her and I will never forget the moment. It was like electricity going all through me ~ an instant connection. I know I will never love an artist more. She has a teenage son and a daughter who is just over a year old and that amazes me. To keep her crazy schedule and be a Mom as well (although I believe her son Syndri is living in Iceland). For me, she is incredibly inspirational. Like, all things are possible. When I look at her work and how she lives her life she does it with complete fearlessness and fulling giving of herself. And, she doesn't FOLLOW the rules ~ she MAKES them. Nathan first played her for me in 1996 and that day was literally life changing. ~~~ "ENJOY"
