I've got "The Best of The Stylistics." I can't believe that only after seeing your list that "Hey There Lonely Girl" isn't on the comp! sad But, "People Make the World Go Round" sure is! thumbs up! There must be a more complete compilation out there.

See, you can't blame Prince for re-doing "Betcha By Golly, Wow." The Stylistics were tight!!! smile

Gotta include "Hurry Up this Way Again." Now that's my song. It's not on the greatest hits either, which bummed me out. I wonder if there's a box set. An adult contemporary R&B radio station tends to play that song alot, next to "You Make Me Feel Brand New" and "Betcha By Golly Wow."

I saw them last year, and there were amazing. There were only three of them in the group, and only one of them was an original member. Love their classic sound.
"Funkyslsistah… you ain't funky at all, you just a little ol' prude"!
"It's just my imagination, once again running away with me."

Some of my favorite songs by them are their lesser known singles and album tracks...

"Stop,Look,Listen (To Your Heart)" (1971)
"It's Too Late" (1972) (their cover of the Carole King classic)
"Children Of The Night" (1972)
"Some Things Never Change" (1985)

Saw them in concert several years ago,and they sounded GREAT.I definitely want them to sing at my wedding lol

Similarly, many people always assume that the Stylistics sing "Sideshow",which was done by Blue Magic lol

Sorry folks I should love The Stylistics but I don't. I like most soul music and similar groups like The Chi-Lites etc but my problem with The Stylistics is just overkill.
When I was a young pre-teen in the mid 70's my mother would constantly play their records all f***in' day. I knew every word and every note to all of their songs. I just got so sick of them. You know when you hear a song for the first time and think it's OK , only to hear it on heavy rotation on the radio and get sick of it? Well multiply that by 1000.
Coulda been worse I suppose. I grew up listening to my mother's Motown and disco , 60's pop etc , my father was into blues , Rock & Roll , Ray Charles etc. Got quite a good musical education really. My mother used to go see The Stylistics in concert every time they toured the UK.
