"By The Way" by Red Hot Chili Peppers I brought this album back in May and I can't stop playing it, its so damn good!!! It was my first RHCP album and I think its their best, I've now started getting all their other albums, but they don't hit the mark for me like "By the Way" does. Whoelse likes this album?? Its the best album I've heard in ages!!!

it's fantastic, and that has much to do with the growing involvement of John Frusciante. 'Venice Queen' is the perfect album-closer, 'Can't Stop' is incredible, especially live. Watch out for the 'Live At Slane Castle'-DVD, it's a stunning concert in front of a very huge crowd! @@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@

this is the problem with the Peppers these days...kids don't even care about the old stuff no more. 'By The Way' sux big dick, Keidis has lost it, he has become a crooner, he actually tries to sing! Frusciante can play the guitar but he is not as dirty anymore as during the days of 'Blood Sugar Sex Magik'. Maybe somebody should give the guy another shot of smack again!

Excellent album, agreed. Californication is even better imo, because it still contains traces of the older "harder" Peppers from the early 90s. But their matured sound on By the Way is welcome, imo. Their songwriting skills have improved, ten fold. And I love their vocal harmonies these days.
Although, it would be nice if they could still make a song that rocked as hard as Aeroplane or Suck My Kiss...

"Calfornication" was so much better than "By The Way". This Velvet Glove, Saviour, Porcelain..the whole album was just a consistent masterpiece. And clown me for my taste, but I like "One Hot Minute". It was experimental, irreverent, dark...and just damn good. BSSM is still their definitive smash though. Keidis HAS lost it..now he's all croony and ethereal..and even if he tried to rock out it would just look wrong..

By the Way is an AWESOME album, but I also love Blood Sugar Sex Magik and Californication. The Peppers are great live!

Oh, and Vampirella, I also love One Hot Minute, too. I thought Dave Navarro fit right in, and "Aeroplane" is one of my favorite RHCP songs.
