the love below is ok but prince could do this stuff in his sleep. i have enjoyed listening to the love below album as it reeks of 80s prince but after a few listens, you can hear hear the limitations of the music. its ok but but doesnt really compare to the stuff prince has put out in the past.
the chorus are overdone to death, you can hear the lack of quality songwriting and it just doesnt stand up to repeated plays. an enjoyable throwaway prince tribute album, thats all it is.

it would be nice if Prince at least did something like this today... i remember a time when he used to be a lot of fun... now he's just "a big ol' party poop!"

The important thing about this album is that it underscores the fact that Outkast (Andre in particular) refuses to be limited artistically. It would've been very easy for someone like Andre to stick to standard hip-hop and be very successful at it. But insteand he keeps pusing the envelope, and I like that. It's very refreshing for hip-hop for Outkast to do what they do.
Besides, haven't we already determined that it is pretty much impossible to compare anyone else to Prince? "You've got to believe in something... why not believe in me?"

i'll believe it when i see it. if Prince could come up with this in his sleep, the waking stuff would be a lot better than it has been in the last 7 years. "oPS i HITTED THE CAPDLOCK"

I'm not trying to be funny or anything, but hasn't this already been discussed like six times already?

Prince could never do this stuff. He has no hip-hop sense. Never did. The spirit of the songs is one he once captured but he's moved on.
