Please dont just view this thread!! At least post a simple yes or no!

I was just thinking (And don't call me stupid. At least in public) with the whole Secret Santa thing: Wouldn't it also be great if we all somehow pitched in to give away some gift to charity on behalf of the org community? Maybe sometime next year.

I don't know the logistics or to whom yet. Perhaps we could decide via some voting mechanism, and then have a very trustworthy, responsible orger (maybe a moderator) collect the funds and see to it that the gift is presented in our name. OR we could all individually bombard a decided-upon charity with individual donations in the name of the org. Even if what we each contributed was miniscule, it could greatly add up! They'd be SO shocked and grateful!

It'd take some work, but I think it'd be so cool to do something like this. And while we'd have to make it SUPREMELY clear our efforts have zero to do with Prince in any way, it may actually do his legacy some good to have a body of his fans come together and do charitable things for no reason other than feeling kind.

Is that a dumb idea?

Great idea! I'm all for it.But isn't this in the wrong forum?

This is a beautiful idea! Many of us work in the social service field (Irrestible and I that I can think of just at the moment) and many others have suffered losses this year due to substance abuse and for medical reasons. It seems like we could figure out a way to make this happen ~ orgers are incredibly creative and big hearted. Is this something you could take on Lammastide? I think you have a lot of credibility and respect from the community.
