I am currently into his old Whiskeytown stuff! Also that Lamb album is great, I'm seeing them coming Saturday in Paradiso, Amsterdam (where I saw Ryan a couple of weeks ago)! Stop making me spontaneously combust with envy, will you! Where there people in the crowd shouting out "Do 'Summer of 69'!" ?? I hear he gets that a lot from dumb fucks. This was the 2nd time I saw him perform (after Vredenburg last year, solo) and it hasn't happened. It was on the infamous Holland - Scotland soccer-match and at one point in between songs somebody from the audience shouted: '4-0!' and the crowd cheered. Ryan just gazed at everybody at said something like: 'Whatever...' and continued playing. He was pretty intoxicated I believe, but it was a great show: 1.5 hours with band acting like a rockstar, and then another 45 minutes just him with acoustic guitar and harmonica. Chillin'!

Hell, they really rock! yea, i saw them a couple years ago before the Tremulant EP came out. they only played 4 songs opening for The Anniversary but they tore the roof off of the tiny club it was in. I'm glad to see they picked up right where At the Drive In left off and kicked it up another notch. I miss At the Drive In with all my heart. They were the best thing in rock music. The Mars Volta is almost, dare I say, better than At the Drive In. They are both fantastic though. "It's that Coqui 900, can I have me a sip"

His voice ranges from the sublime to the utter shite, and a lot of the songs are full of background hiss, but i think that's half the charm of the record. 'upstarts in a blowout', 'Michelle' 'the world is coming to my party' and 'serve this royalty' are all cool songs. I saw him live a while ago and he was pretty good

This was one tough year. I might have took look over my CDs at home and think about it again but for now, here goes:
Madonna "American Life" (had it been any other year, this might not be true) Fleetwood Mac "Say You Will" Luther Vandross-"Dance With My Father" Outkast-"The Love Below"/"Speakerbozzz" Dannii Minogue-"Neon Nights" White Stripes-"Elephant" Annie Lennox-"Bare" Al Green-"I Can't Stop" Jody Wately "Midnight Lounge" Prince -"N.E.W.S" Best Single: Donna Summer "You're So Beautiful" I didn't have much faith in rock this year, except for The White Stripes who were a favorite of mine last year. This is my list ~ not in any order because it's just too difficult and changes depending on my mood. Also, I get to cheat big time ~ I just got the first two this year and had never heard either of them (seriously) and they WERE released in 2003.
