Ruben Studdard...anyone care?

The big man's new CD is out today but does anyone here care. I noticed there was push here for him to win and Clay to lose but it seems like most people are forgetting about him (mostly in the media). Just wondering if anyone cares about the CD. I was rooting for him but his single is awful (I didn't buy it but heard it on radio). I mean a cover of a Westlife song and "Superstar", which probably sounds like a bland remake of the Luther verison. Who needs that? So, does anyone care?

don't care about him or any of those other 'musical' acts that appeared on the show. everyone knows the only reason to watch american idol is to see the awful singers who get booted at the beginning of the season. you know, the ones making fools of themselves just to get on tv.

Who's Ruben Studdard?

I get so sad when the competition gets whittled down to the "good" singers. That's sofa king boring, man. The tuneless delusionals are the best!

Hey I saw Ruben on a christmas special singing Donny Hathaway's "This Christmas" (which is my favorite Christmas song) and I thought he did a great job! I know Ruben's fave artist is Donny.

American Idol has handled Kelly Clarkson amazingly - all the songs I heard of hers were great! I'm busy buying other stuff, but anyone who likes Avril Lavigne and has a taste for superproduced pop should really dig Kelly!

In Canada they are busy pushing Canadian Idol winner Ryan Malcolm's Home album.

Exactly! Watching the losers that can't sing at all is the funniest part of this entire show.

Oh, he's one of those awful, "American Idol" people right? Yeah, they all suck, as do those stupid judges.

hahahahahahahaha

anyways, I've said it before and i'll say it again: kelly and clay are the only consistantly good people to come from that american idol mess.
yeah, sometimes rueben sounds nice, sometimes. He sounded great on the show (my niece watched it, not my choice) but the stuff I've heard from him since? ill

And his version "this christmas" is horrible. It sounds like he's just shouting words.

I was listening to the tom joyner morning show (do NOT know why) and just loved how they consistanly dissed clay instead of talking about the album.
thye also played a track, something with the word "sexy" in it and I laughed my ass off, it sounded horrible.
I don't think Rueben has staying power, just don't.

Kelly and clay on the other hand, are really good, from all of what I've heard by them...

If he didn't have a heart attack, he will someday. The man's named after a sandwich for God's sake! He doesn't stand a chance!

Anyway, let me just say I hate Clay Aiken with a passion.

NOPE!

not at all.. He has a frog in the back of his throat & all his notes sound horse and off because he is a FAT ASS! He must sweat gravy

NOBODY cares about that show anymore!! By the way HOW and why do they have a American Idol Playstation 2 Game??? What the hell is that?? How do you make a game out of judging singers??

JohnnyTheFox

Remember those 205 shirts Moby Dick wore during "American Idol"? He's suing the company that makes them because they're using his image to promote them, without his permission.

Well, the company has struck back, claiming that they paid Fatboy to wear those shirts on stage - except they paid all the money into his brother's account.

This was against the rules and Ruben could have got his ass slung out of the competition if it had come out.

Sorry, his music? Nah. Ain't buying it.

Actually, that is a Bee Gees song smile

But Al Green did a kickass cover version in the early 70s.

Good cd. Did not go the teeny bopper pop trash route. More adult contemporary soul. How Do You Mend A Broken Heart (Bee Gees cover from the show) is very good, along with Superstar (Grammy nominated) and a couple more. He took his time. He is not getting near the airtime as Clay, with every morning show, daytime and latenight show. Promotions dropped the ball or maybe chose to promote this way. It was $9.98 at target and I had to support my man Ru.

Ruben annoys me...his version of The Carpenters' "Superstar" butchered the intent of the song completely. He thought it was a show tune, or a love song, maybe, and sang it as such. Did NOT work.
