Alicia Key's LENO appearances

Last night was amazing. Tonight was supposed to be with Stevie Wonder. What happened? Why no Stevie?

Dont know. But she looked great sexy

Ive seen her live she is gorgeous. She is so talented. Man I wish I had some of that musical talent. I can keep a note at the karaoke, but would love to play an instrument like the piano.

I actually thought the past two nights were just so-so. I don't know...I'm just not blown away by Alicia like a lot of people seem to be. She seems to rely on samples too much for my tastes to even get into her like that. And yes, she has talent, but I expect the performers I watch to have talent, and I think that's where me and a lot of people are different. They don't expect that from their entertainers, whereas I do cuz you could barely last a hot second in the 70s if you didn't have any. What good ol' Slick Rick said about her may have been harsh, but most of it reigns TRUE!!!

A great talent.. I didn't blink or breathe during her performance, She's incredibly beautiful but sadly, I have yet to hear a song that makes me want to go out and by her music.

it looked like she took a couple of lessons like how to learn how to act like a young lady, somebody must've pulled her to the side and told her about herself. If there's one thing for sure, she ain't shy and I don't know what it is, I see a little bitchiness in her like she snap at u if u look at her the wrong way, she's cleaning up the ghetto act which is a good thing i guess lol

Don't like her. Her piano playing is only slightly better than chopsticks, or scale practice with Ms. Finch.
All you others say Hell Yea!! woot!

tell me, what was said?

i like alicia keys. when 'fallin' dropped i loved her at first. but with that ghetto act she lost me. she was being silly. now she's back and i just can't get over a certain fakeness i feel when looking at her. she's beautiful, don't get me wrong, but that attitude of her seems artificial. she's got talent, no doubt, but also a good marketing team..
don't need no reefer, don't need cocaine
purple music does the same to my brain
i'm high, so high

Seems to me you got a good side of ass whoopin' from a female New Yorker to be dogging female NY'ers like this the 2nd time around.

It would make sense only that way!

I can't remember Rick James' exact words, but he basically said that Alicia is overrated, and he named several other artists (Teena Marie,Rachelle Farrell, etc) whom he thinks are better singers that deserve more attention. He also ridiculed her album being called 'Songs In A Minor',implying that she wasn't really playing in that key.It was a brutal, harsh assessment, and if I'm not mistaken,I'm sure the word "bitch" was used at least once wink
