More Grammy Misses this year.....

I am really shocked at allthe misses this year at the Grammies, usually they are better with nominating but this year they really gave in to whats POPULAR.

One of the biggest misses was JOE JACKSON, I know alot of people didnt get to hear this latest cd VOLUME IV but it was one of the best of 2003. Its i my top 5 of the year along with ANNIE LENNOX. I really do not understand how they nominated ANNIE and GEORGE HARRISON in the POP ALBUM field, this is where you nominate BEYONCE and AGUILERA and TIMBERLAKE etc...

The PRINCE nom is a shock and hint that maybe the industry people are getting the wave of independant music. Or at least the people in the Voting field are aware of Indie artists.

I also felt HALL AND OATES deserved a nom (yes HALL and OAtes) they had the number 1 AC single ofthe year with DO IT FOR LOVE and the album sold pretty well considering u cant find it everywhere.

Some shocks, SEAN PAUL best new artist, HOW its his third album. And 50 cent, its his second album and also he was on other tracks of rappers dating back to 2001. I mean this is a rule that the grammies envoked on Whitney and Richard Marx who were shoe ins for BEST NEW ARTISTS in thier years but were disqualified. Whitney got bumped because of a duet with TEDDY PENDERGRASS, and RICHARD MARX got bumped for recording a song for a soundtrack before he got signed. But Richard Marx probably will get the last laugh because he is up for SONG OF THE YEAR as a writer of DANCE WITH MY FATHER.

Fleetwood Mac, a really BIG MISS. We wont even talk about this one. I mean the EAGLES get nominated for a song that was a HENLEY throwaway. MAC could have been in alot of categories mainly BEST ALBUM.

But as usual I will be watching the SHOW,hopefully it will be full of PERFORMANCES, I mean LAST YEARS was actually half way good.

I agree. Some of us need to get together and crash in on some of these old geezers who think they're in the know. If Prince got a nod for N.E.W.S. then Wendy & Lisa should've at least received some recognition for all the work they do for film and television. We need to teach these geezers the revelation of this fact.
