Milk shake

Milkshake would have been a good hit for vanity 6

What are other tunes past or present that have
V6 vibes?

The new Vanity 6

Beyonce
Kalise
Pink
We all want a big hit again because
we want to relive the Hysteria & Pandemonium we experienced
when Purple Rain was Hot. Actually, he doesn't care if it happens again or not.

I don't know why people keep comparing this song to "Nasty Girl". It sounds more like those "Lovesexy"-era beats to me. You have to really open your ears.

By the way, her name is spelled, "Kelis".

Anwayz, what does the American public make of this song?

It does not sound 'American', it has a totally fresh sound, I think.

I just love Kelis.

Are you implying that Pink would be the Brend..a...that makes total sense. Don't know about Kelis as the Susan but I guess.

I'm kind of digging "Milkshake". It's an R&B-hip-hop song I can live with. And I mean live with since I'll be hearing twenty times a day!

The song is now Top ten on Billboard, good to see the Startrack are spending some money on Kelis and buying her airplay unlike Virgin
Now Kelis will blow up big (notice how she has lost alot of weight, she said her record label told she looked to big in promo's) hopefully she keeps it real though, can't wait for "TASTY" out this Monday, Hope it's as good as WANDERLAND, anyone heard any of it??

yup. it is nice to see that. I've never heard Kelis this much on the radio, not even when 'caught out there' came out.

It's one of the stupidest fucking song's I've ever heard. It's almost as bad as "My Neck, My Back."
"You need people like me so you can point your fuckin' fingers and say, "That's the bad guy." "

The lyrics don't make any sense:

My Milkshake brings all the boys to the yard,
And they're like "It's better than yours"
Damn right, It's better than yours,
I can teach you, but I have to charge

Lyrics are lacking. And the beat sounds...I don't know, undercooked. It's also sexy, sure, but it's not sensually sexy (which I'd prefer), it's sexy in a dirty, guttural sort of way.

The video is perfect, though.

I love that song "Milkshake" and yes it did immeditately remind me of "Nasty Girl". Ditto for Brittney's song "Slave for You".

As for the lyrics to Milkshake, love them too. It's nice to see someone grasp the value of being coy. Too many R&B, rap, and hip-hop artists are lost on that, and are just too damned graphic. Big up to the person who wrote Milkshake.

That's coy? I thought it was still pretty obvious. "Little Red Corvette" was coy. "Milkshake" is just PG-13 radio-friendly R&B fodder.

Yeah, but this is bullshit that REALLY doesn't need to be heard.

I think a song SHOULD make sense, sorry. This is innuendo for 12-year-olds...which is probably why it's #4 at the moment!

Kelis is doing a killing with Milkshake...

Currently it's...

#3 on Billboard's Hot Dance Music/Club Play (was #1 last week)
#4 on Billboard's Hot 100
#9 on Billboard's Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Singles & Tracks

and it's nominated for a Grammy (her first one).

I hope she goes platinum with this album.

There's something about songs that sound like cheers. They absolutely SMACK of danceability.

Housequake and Milkshake are great examples of that.

I like the song, it's catchy, but they could've done better with the video.
