First dates of Bowie's U.S. tour postponed due to the flu

His shows in Atlantic City and Washington D.C. have been delayed. The opening night of his tour will now be in Boston. Tickets will be honored for shows scheduled at a later date. This is the 2nd time he's gotten sick in the last month. I hope he takes it easy. He's getting up there. Get well soon David. comfort

There are a lot of gaps in his schedule, so hopefully it will be sooner rather than later.

Yah I know...I've been thinking about buying tix for the other two shows if there are any left after xmas (by whatever "creative" means necessary)...but I'd rather Uncle Dayvid sound good and be in good health than be a bratty fan, so it's all good I spose...sigh...

Yeah, same here. Whatever he has to do. I've been a bit scared for him ever since he had that heart scare a few years back. I hope you're able to get tickets for the other shows. I might try that too.

What happened with the heart scare? This is not good news about the flu. It hits so hard and leaves you so drained. He must espend an incredible amount of energy for the traveling and the shows. I hope he is feeling well very soon. He needs some of your healing herbal teas TRON. I'll give him a ring and set up a delivery for you. smile Is he in the US or England now?

Not sure where he is.

I don't remember the specifics, but he was hospitalized back around 2000/2001 for something. If I'm not mistaken, I think it was something wrong with his heart. I'll see if I can find out what happened.

I'm still trying to get tix to his Cleveland show in January. I hope he'll play some tracks from the Berlin era. That's the era that has been inspiring me lately.

The ones from the Berlin era that I've heard of him playing on this tour are:

Breaking Glass
Sound And Vision
Be My Wife
A New Career In A New Town
"Heroes"
Sister Midnight
Fantastic Voyage

He's been doing Sister Midnight??? I thought I'd been keeping up to date with the man's set lists, but I never saw this...awesome! This tune has been a recent obsession of mine, as I'd never realized "Red Money" from Lodger had a previous incarnation...

Yup, I love that version...he's a fool not to have that sound footage cleaned up and properly released. The whole rehearsal is pretty mindblowing, actually...

Yeah. It's not like he doesn't have a million official live albums already. One more couldn't hurt.

And how many artists, especially of his stature, have officially released a concert rehearsal? It has all the brilliance of a good live show, and it shows what a consummate workaholic professional Bowie's always been, even at his most drug-besotted, ha...
