One off album. Unfortunately.

Amel Larrieux, Groove Theory vocalist, did vocals for 'Sweetback' (a wonderful album) and then eventually released a solo effort entitled 'Infinite Possibilities' (so-so). Bryce Wilson did the music for the album and is still doing production work from what I understand.

oh yeah, i forgot about sweetback. did she do vocals for the whole album or just a song or two? i remember maxwell having some kind of connection to sweetback, as well as sade (perhaps her bandmembers were also members of sweetback?). a friend has the cd so i'll check it out. thanks for the info.

She did vocals for two songs on Sweetback's CD. Maxwell did one. Also Leroy Osbourne who does backing vocals for Sade does a beautiful cover of 'Hope She'll Be Happier'. And yes, you're correct, Sweetback is comprised of Sade's band members.

I love Amel's voice. I need to chase up her stuff.

UptownDeb

Never really cared for the group even though that FOIN!!! Bryce Wilson was involved. He had me at Mantronix! And if he ever delivered my pizza, there's no way I would've kicked him to the curb the way Toni Braxton's homegirls did in the video.
