"Nothing Fails" is the best song she's done since "Substitute For Love".

disbelief this is one of the rare times when we disagree...lol...I think the song is good, but hardly the masterpiece that many fans make it out to be.Take out the choir and it's a rather ordinary song.

What do you think of "Easy Ride"? I heard a rumor that Madonna wanted to release it as a single, but Warners didn't approve. It's certainly a better choice than "Nothing Fails".

"Easy Ride" isn't catchy at all and one of the tracks, IMHO, that drags down the album. I'm one of those people that thinks "Nothing Fails" is her "sliced bread" track of the year. I like "Mohter And Father" a lot though.

BTW, has anyone heard "Nothing Fails" on the radio. And are the pusing the remix? I haven't but I never even heard "Hollywood" on the radio. And Madonna is from Detriot! Damn, she pissed off Clear Channel. But then again, its pretty hard for older artists (older than like 23!) to get airplay. It's all about one hit wonder hip hop acts that just yell and make noises. Also, did the R&R EP even chart? Doesn't appear to have. I can't find it? And what does the cover for the new single look like (I guess that will be out tommorrow).

R&R charted at #115

Thanks for the info. That doesn't sound to good but this thing got no promotion thought (certaintly none from Madonna).

There is another version of this video that is much, much better. It will be included in the limited edition version of her boxed set, coming in late spring/early summer.

sezwho?

You have no reason to, but trust me on this one. Madonna didn't release the boxed set at the original time because of the mess that Warner Bros. was in. She will be releasing it this spring/summer and this video will be included along with many more. But only on the limited edition version.

well, i know they're releasing a new DVD with her videos since Beautiful Stranger. but Madonna's manager has said there are no plans for the box set at any time in the future.

Legalities. She's covering her ass. It is not a coincidence that she has not been promoting any of her recent music. Madonna is thru with Warner Bros. Bigger and brighter things are on the horizon.

well, she still owes them, like, 2 albums on her contract.

does the new ep count?

probably not. or maybe as a half an album, like Girl 6 and Very Best Of counted for Prince's contract (plus C&D and Vault, as individuals).

the box set might count as another half of an album, but i really don't know.

if warners is no longer warners, is it possible that she could have made an arrangement with the new owner?

no, because it didn't have a new owner until after R&R was released.

however, it is possible that she had a clause in her contract that if the company was ever sold, she'd be released from the contract. janet had that in her original Virgin contract, and after only one album, she was able to get out of the contract and re-sign with them, plus she got a hefty check just for them being sold.

so who co-owns maverick with her now? is warner's out of the picture? i'm so confused...

Warner Bros. does. They've just been bought. Though Madonna herself isn't signed to Maverick, and I believe the arrangement with them is seperate from her own WB contract.

I'm very confused too. I wasn't sure yet that they had been sold. Music industry is in some deep shit all these mergers. BTW, would this new ownership prehaps mean the re-releases of forgotten classics in the Warner catolog. Vanity 6 comes to mind!

iwishyouheaven

while i would love to see some more promotion for madonna's music right now, i don't blame her for not promoting both her children's books and music on the same show.

considering all proceeds from the books go to charity i think she recongizes that it would just be tacky to push both. like i'm trying to do this great thing and oh, by the way i have some music out too. it just doesn't work.

i am however a bit perplexed by all the different things she is putting out of american life at the moment. it's an interesting formula. as in diffused saturation.

'Remixed and Revisited' debuted at Number 115,selling 21,891 copies it's first week (about 314 were sold before it's street date). This project wasn't really meant to be a huge success. It's just a special EP,released in time for the holidays,to tide fans over until her next major project. There's really no need for Madonna to do any heavy promotion for it.

But it's great, isn't it? I love the "Nobody Knows Me" remix and "Your Honesty" is a wonderful track.
