Antwan 'Big Boi' Patton gives props to my girl. I finally got around to reading last months Mojo magazine and found this...
"I'm looking for Kate Bush, man! For real!" says Antwan Patton excitedly, if somewhat unexpectedly. The physically diminutive half of psychedelic Atlantic hip hop duo OutKast is sitting outside a Los Angeles recording studio where, indoors, partner Andre Benjamin is putting the finishing touches to the group's new LP. A man who brings a wealth of enthusiasm to everything he does, Patton is neverthless noticeably animated when talking about Bexleyheath's finest. "My uncle introduced me to Kate Bush when I was about 14 years old, and that shit opened my mind up," Patton gurgles. "The first one I got was The Kick Inside, then I bought Hounds Of Love. Then The Sensual World..." He breaks off in a moment of wistful reverie. "She was so bugged out, man! But I felt what she was talkin' about in the songs. Mother Stands For Comfort, Running Up That Hill...My uncle would explain what the songs stood for. Like, The Man With The Child In His Eyes and all that shit. I thought, Wow! She's so fuckin' deep! I was infatuated with her," he confesses with a broad grin. "Still am. I gotta track her down! I just found out that she was producin' all that shit herself, man! She's so fuckin' dope and so underrated and off the radar. So hopefully on the next record you're gonna hear OutKast and Kate Bush do at least two or three songs."

Wonderful!!! I am thoroughly amazed at how broad her audience is. She's had so many props from the most diverse artists over the last few years. It must be nice to know that you can still be appreciated even when you've not released anything for a decade.

Not yet. If I buy it I'll have to get their other four albums as well. So I'm holding out for a bit. You know, a bit like holding a kitten over a barrel of boiling water.

I've read a couple of interviews where he's brought her up as an influence, who'd a thought hey? I wonder if this now diminishes his street credibility? Probably not, people know how big of a Kate Bush fan I am, but but they know better than to fuck with me.
