And I do think it's becoming the equivalent of when super complex guitar solos started going out of style in the early '90s - too many people are making fun of the melisma style of singing and it's finally starting to catch on that cramming all what whooping into every note of a song is getting tired...but if yer a fan of that style, just give it a few years and it'll come back into style, I'm sure. | |

i've heard/seen several people (including Christina) that she's getting no attention, and Britney is getting all of it.
and that's true to some extent. however, Britney's album is just now coming out. Christina's came out a year ago and she's on the 5th single now. of course Britney is, now, getting more attention than her. she's got something new out there and is promoting it in a big way. Christina has been wrapped up in a tour for the last several months promoting an album that's more than a year old. of course she's not getting as much attention right now... she already got hers. as for her comment about Pink, she's full of shit. nobody was working with Linda Perry until Pink did it with her previous album. suddenly Christina's showing up with a bunch of Linda Perry rock-chick tracks. she's beyond pathetic for any and all of the statements she's made in these interviews. | |

you guys gotta remember the ages of these girls. i don't even think they're 23 yet. they ALL sound silly and pathetic in their interviews. Well, it is true that Christina can sing, unfortunately, all the music she sings to is garbage. That having been said, most of the people that she attacked do indeed suck. I think this is just a matter of her throwing stones from her glass house.
I mean, lets look at the artists she dissed: Mariah- Good voice, crappy tunes. Pretty much just like Xtina Whitney- Same as above, but with the whole crack-head element added in. She *was* really skinny. . .back when she was a blonde. One of those E shows (I think?) interviewed some of her friends who said all that dancing and touring she did initially just melted all the flesh offa her. She seems to have gained a bit of it back now. | |

Actually Christina is a better all around talent than all of those she attacked, but to actually bad-mouth them was immature. She's young so she'll make these mistakes. Hopefully she'll grow out of it.
By better all around talent I mean she looks good so any disagreement of who looks better is personal opinion. Her voice is on par with Whitney's, Celine's, and Mariah's all of whom couldn't dance if their feet were on fire. As for Britney and Madonna, well... pick a category and Christina wins hands down. Okay, well Madonna wins for business sense-- which means nothing to me because it's not entertainment. As for her being an artist. We'll see. I don't sense another Ani Difranco, Joni Mitchell, or even Lauryn Hill there but she's still growing and maturing as a person so who knows? |
