Kravitz to play Hendrix in biopic? Read about this in a small article in the Metro Newspaper today. What do you think? i'm not that impressed.
Thought it was amusing that this article stated "Shouldn't be too hard for Lenny, his whole career has just been a Hendrix/Prince tribute act anyway".something like that anyway.

I read that Andre3000 was going to play Jimi. I hope it's neither him or Lenny. I like them both, but neither are actors

Oh lawd *in my best Prince's altra ego voice* That mofo is SOOO wanting this,,,get ready to throw up a gallon!

It would be cool if they cast someone who's a talented actor first, and leave the Jimi-esque rock stars for the soundtrack.

Forgot to add that i'll bet Nicole kidman is pulling the strings for him. I personally think he's too old, but you never know, i've not seen him act though.

Sweet bejesus, Kravitz is still going? How can someone that represents all the cliches of seventies rock still have a career? Even Spinal Tap had a shelf life.
The guy is a musical embarrassment and makes Westlife look cutting edge..

Nah! can't see it happening but i still think the right man for the job would be jesse johnson... with a few acting lessons ofcourse

Neither Kravitz nor Andre3000 look anything like him so it wouldn't really work. Plus they'd have to learn Jimi's mannerisms and speech which would likely require an actor to do it properly. Atleast Andre has a similar build and is an artist-- can't say the same for Lenny.

I think 3000 would be perfect, he may not have a lot of experience in acting, but maybe his life lessons as a misunderstood artist might compensate or even enhance his portrayal of Hendrix.

One potential problem...Lenny is too short! Wasn't Jimi kinda tall?

I think Laurence Fishburne would be a good choice. He was excellent as Ike Turner.

That's been kicking around for yrs. Fishburn might be too old now though. This film seems to be in developmental purgatory as far as I'm concerned.
