Oh shit, here we go again

For those of you who don't remember my Justin Timberlake post: http://www.prince.org/msg...msg_842992

Now, his ex is in the mix. I've only heard 4 songs by her. I was eating at a resturant and they were playing the whole album. So now she's going from the Swedish pop sound to the more r&b sound (at least from the 4 songs I heard). Is anything genuine in the music biz anymore? She's on the bandwagon now. Perhaps, she thinks if Justin can do it, so can she. hmmm They deserve each other

I can't really expect originality from Britney Spears, who doesn't seem to have a sliver of musical talent in her heavily-plastiqued body. In The Zone is easily one of the most soulless, vapid records I've heard, and that's saying something. Sub-par beats, songs (well, except maybe "Toxic", but it sounds like a Rachel Stevens castoff; coincidentally, it was written by Cathy Dennis, who also wrote Stevens's similarly punchy "Sweet Dreams My LA Ex"), and production. Britney trying to sound sexy ("Breathe On Me") sounds completely ridiculous, Britney trying to sound serious ("Everytime") sounds incompatible, and Britney trying to sound (and dance) like Janet Jackson is an abomination.

I really have no idea why she's still around. If Madonna had produced material as weak as homogenized and weak as this for four straight albums, she would have been yesterday's news as of 1986.

I don't appreciate the whole "white Janet" vibe

It seems artists in the 80's had to work harder

I liked the music to some song where she says "What goes around comes around." though. Her singing is shit and her dancing is rather basic

Eh, they're made for each other, as you said. Britney rips off '80s Janet and Justin rips off '80s Michael.

I should qualify that. They both rip off, but they lose the quality in transition.

rolleyes JT is not aiming to be the next Michale Jackson, get over it already.

As far as Britney goes, that girl doesn't have one original bone in her body, what do you expect?
