Dear 1p1p1ip The likes of Jamie Cullum is not what is wrong with the music industry...
Yes, the last album was mostly covers BUT... havn't we all heard some dreadful covers even by Prince..?? and I have been a fan since '83 ( I was 13) Maybe b4 u start typing/dissin' u should get the whole truth and nothing but the truth so help u god...!! Check the 'Pointless Nostalgic' album...the track 'I want to be a pop star'...is so true. Talented guy, nobody can say otherwise if they are truthfull and seen him live... a. Wrong forum b. This is a reply to a thread you previously started: http://www.prince.org/msg/7/70244 You might as well respond to the contribution you disagreed with on that thread rather than start yet another thread about Callum. ALT+PLS+RTN: Pure as a pane of ice. It's a gift.

Yes, JC is what is wrong with the music industry. If he was ugly, or old, he'd get nowhere. The fact that he had to do all those (IMHO truly awful) covers to get noticed is bad. Fair enough, you like JC, but personally, I really can't stand his overly-affected singing "style", and yes those covers of his have really got my back up. I truly think he's more or less talentless, a pretty boy who can play piano a bit who's landed on his feet and is now being promoted to death by a record company with a big investment to recoup. But your original suggestion was that Prince should record with him - why? So JC can mess up Prince songs too? What could P gain from working with him? BTW, what dreadful P covers are you referring to (leave Emancipation out of this!! ) Last thing - any mods about, can you stick this in the right forum and the argument can continue!!

1p1p...blah blah
we all know prince covers tracks, live and on albums I have grown up, when I was 13-20 odd i thought prince was the only talented person on the planet...c'mon there is more to music than prince... Dont get me wrong love the man always will (still got my half of the ticket from 1986 London concert) For me no1 will ever come close to prince, but there are other artists out there. Did everyone love 'Dirty Mind' No, but I did, and I hope others gave Prince a chance...same as I do Jamie Cullum Respect...
