Missy Elliott's Earliest Group Sista-Does Anybody Know Them? The group that Missy was originaly from. Check this review from allmusic: Sista, the brainchild of Devante Swing of Jodeci, released one album in 1994 before they sadly went their separate ways. The group was comprised of vocalist and rapper Missy Misdemeanor Elliott, LaShawn Shellman, Chonita Coleman, and Radiah Scott. This superb and extremely underrated album was produced entirely by Devante Swing and Timbaland, and spawned one single release, "Brand New," which charted briefly. The album is a mix of 20 R&B and hip-hop flavors, segued together with skits and interludes. The highlight of the album is the searing ballad "Feel of Your Lips," which features surprise cameo appearances by Mary J. Blige and K-Ci Hailey of Jodeci. — Paul Clifford 1.Intro Talk 2.Hip Hop 3.Slow Down 4.Wfro 5.Sweat You Down 6.DeVante at the Payphone 7.Find My Love 8.I Wanna Know 9.Hit U Up 10.125th Street 11.Big Shann and Timbaland at Train Stop 12.I Don't Mind 13.Secret Admirer 14.Sista Bounce 15.Swing Thing 16.Brand New 17.I Wanna Be With U 18.Good Thang 19.Feel of Your Lips Ft. You know what though, if you have ever seen the VH1 Driven on Missy, they said that the single "Brand New" was released and it got okay reception but wasn't selling, so the record company said they weren't gonna release their album, and dropped them.
So the album didn't even come out. There's a track list and stuff.. I once went hunting for a possible promo version, but I don't know that this album was ever manufactured! I did, however, get my hands on a factory-sealed with a "featuring" sticker.. copy of Sista's CD single for "Brand New"! 1. Brand New 2. Sista Bounce 3. Brand New (Mr. Dalvin's Ferrari Mix) 4. Brand New (Timbaland's Beemer Mix) #3 is the video version; you might have heard a clip on VH1 Driven. "It's Alright" was Sista featuring Craig Mack and produced by Evil Dee (Black Moon's DJ).. I bet some of you still have that Dangerous Minds soundtrack - check it out!

They checked that shit out of love 4 Wendy & Lisa lol so yeah I'm sure that most of them got it. One of my cousins have the promo album(same tracklist and all) which was being sold to see the reaction back in 94. I heard some stuff and its the boom-diggity,,,doesn't sound like anything from 1994. No wonder why some of the elements in Aaliyah's "One In A Million" sounds like some parts in Sista's album(since Missy & Timbaland were doin most of the ghostworking-Devante stole the credit btw). And the supricing part is I heard that Tweet did afew adlips in that album.

Harlepolis said: I was trying to see if more of the album was in this directory but I can't access it! Yooo! That's straight Devante production - that sounds like Jodeci's 1993 album! And the interpolation of Mary's own song "I Never Wanna Live Without You".. Did you know Timbaland programmed the beat for Ginuwine's "Pony" in 1993?

Did you know Timbaland programmed the beat for Ginuwine's "Pony" in 1993? Well, if you remember Driven you'll realize that Timbaland & Missy did alot of work in that period but ALL of it(including this album) got shelved becoz of Devante who was holding them to do alot of ghostworking in the Jodici albums-"The Dairy Of a Mad Band"? Check that shit out, half of it got Timbaland's fingerprints all over it(Missy helped alot with the concpets,,,she wasn't only rapping in that album and Tim wasn't only scartching too,,its alot deeper). It was really frustrating staying with the Jodici crew. Mary lata commented on that "I know Missy's struggle and she knows my struggle too". Mary too recorded dozens of joints under Devante's production but all of them went in Devante's vault when she decided that she's going to split from Uptown. Man lol Tweet too, she was suppose to come out in 94 but when she saw her hard work with Devante & the Jodici crew going nowhere, she called it quit. Its Rick James all over again,,,only then it was Devante!

I used to love that song back in the day - before I knew and loved Missy I remeber thinking she did not look like she belonged with them at all.
