Moloko:Brixton 22/11 Although I am a terrible writer I just thought I would try and summarise the evening... Awesome!!
This band are truly something different and Roisin Murphy a force to be reckoned with. I really could go so far as to say she is one of the best female performers I have seen live-she is just such an entertainer... From the moment they stepped on to the stage the place was rocking. Roisin wore a tweed skirt and jacket number with a small family of rackoons around her neck and then proceeded to perform Familiar Feeling before launching into her crazy kick-running-manonacid-dancing.. Can't remember all the songs, but 100% is a new one with a kind of Prince live feel I thought. The slower songs worked well also, as Roisin is so theatrical, Absent Friends my fave. She sounded fantastic and the tunes just kept on coming -Pleasure Seeker was fab and the grand finale -Indigo was kick ass, with Eddie and co doing scooby doo voices Rameses! Collosous!! While Roisin Danced like a crazy Chicken wearing a gold mask and then diving in to the crowd.. A great night was had by all and I really recommend that you try and catch them somewhere soon The Hottest chip of them all - www.hotchip.co.uk - Get down with Prince

I completely in love with Rosin, she's lucky I stay in the states, otherwise I would stalking her on a daily basis.
I really hope they come to the states soon! Wherever they're playing if it's within a 1000 miles I'll be there that for sure! Thanks for the review.

I am a major Moloko fan...and if the poster of this thread is supposedly a fan, why does he/she count "100%" a new song and talk like he's never heard it before. The album's been out for many many months!
No big deal yeah, but, sheesh, know your Moloko, mofo! . [This message was edited Wed Nov 26 1:17:52 PST 2003 by mrdespues]

Yup, they do this really cool version that lasts for ages with a really different intro... she sings 'Every body wants to be somebody' which I remember was a song that used to get played a lot when I started going clubbing-did she sing this originally? I saw them perform on 31/10 in Amsterdam, a great show it was. I espcially enjoy the performance of 'Forever More': Roisin was standing there at the mic, holding a big bunch of roses, singing the lyrics like an angel; then the band started doing their instrumental jam of the song and Roisin went apeshit on the roses! She was throwing them on and off the stage like a mad-woman...Very rock 'n roll. What I also like: Roisin has a certain amount of sluttiness (british skankiness...) in her appearance, and she knows exactly how to exploit it!
Best songs of the show: 'The Time Is Now' and 'I Just Can Not Contain This'
