The show from 11/11 has been widely bootleged. It's such a great show, Tori's really getting wild on stuff like Precious Things and Caught A Lite Sneeze. One of my favourite live-shows she offered.

Cool. I should try to find that. I have a special connection to that date too.

i'm not too into live bootlegs but i have recently developed this, um, need to have recordings of shows i've actually attended. my favorite tori album is pele and i had the privilege of catching the dew drop inn tour in philly back in the day. of course, me being me, i was 2 songs late. one of those songs was my favorite (yes, anastesia). does anyone know if a bootleg exists of any of the philadelphia tower theatre shows from that tour? i have the ticket stub, so i can find out which exact show it was if any exist. any help gets you a gold star!

let's just say she got a good ol' 'nancy kerrigan' after the show! LOL

yeah, tori broke it down for her. she was all like "how can you come to my show and NOT expect me to do this song? and how can you come to my show and tell ME what to play?" she said some other stuff but basically she assumed the girl had been attacked and still needed to work things out...tori didn't know that bitch was about to get attacked right then and there! LOL

Great story! Did it ruin the show for Tori? Did it change the vibe?

I downloaded it from this website.

http://www.turbidblue.com/index.php

They rotate bootlegs every week, they might put it back up again.

Here is a direct link to the download page:

According to the Setlist Database, a recording is "available". Good luck in finding it! I've always wanted to find the Pele show I saw. It was my first Tori experience and she floored me with Little Amsterdam. She started pounding her fist on the piano, right above the keyboard. Then she held a note FOREVER and went right into the line "Little Amsterdam, shut down today.." I nearly fell out of my chair. She took us to church with that one! Hallelujah!

aw hell no, you know tori kept right on going. she broke it down and then performed the song better than any other time i've heard it...and i've been going to tori shows since 1991. it din't affect the vibe. the show was beautiful and the emotions were all there. if it did affect the performance it would have been by making it that much more important of a moment.

The awesome thing about Boys For Pele is that it was the first album Tori self-produced. The record company was a bit iffy on it, but Tori proved herself once again. This was the first Tori cd I bought. I love the way she tells the story during the Boulder CO concert that year.

"Um, when I started recording this record it was very interesting because, um... none of these record guys wanted to let a woman produce her own record, and they were very very nervous about letting me do this. And uh they were were much more nervous when the heard it [laughs from the audience]. And so what happened was, I turned in the record... and, um, I've never really had such a moment in my life. I mean, things were kind of bad when I pooped in my pants and uh I walked in and, um, you know... I sold a lot of records for this company... and I walked in---I'd had some pizza, a nice glass of wine and I was hangin with these girls, and I know it's a little dark, but you know, everybody needs a good bottle of wine and some depressing songs every once in a while. And so I walked in and, uh, this is what I met: [she sits stright up and plasters her face with the most austere look. Holds this position for about ten seconds. Laughter from the audience] So basically what I said was--after this record went platinum [a few hoots and laughs from us]--"it wasn't because of anything YOU all did..." but it was because of You [motioning with her shoulder toward the audience] guys. Record companies, radio had absolutely fuck-all to do with any of it [big cheers and applause]. But the one thing is, you guys Did, and this is one song that demanded to come tonight because, although she's not on this planet anymore, she was, um, probably the main song that gave me strength to withstand when everybody said I'd made a piece of shit."

I just put this track up for you guys to download. I wanted to share it with you guys because I love the way she tells this story.
