'Radio People' by Zapp

'Radio People' by Zapp is such a cool song!. I have all of the albums by Roger and Zapp except the new 1 'VI'!. Are their any other fans of Roger & Zapp, or am I the only 1?

I'm a big fan. I'm from Dayton Ohio and I grew up with the group's kids. George Clinton, Bootsy, Rick James and others get a lot of credit for being legends of funk, but Zapp and Roger are also at the top of that list. More Bounce, So Ruff so Tuff and Grapevine and some of the funkiest songs in history.

I am a also a huge fan. I 2 have all of their albums including the new one. I ordered it from their website. Its great!! We, meaning my sisters and I, use to hang out with Roger and the guys from Zapp. They actually did two concerts back 2 back in our town just because we asked them to. And after the second show Roger made it appoint to come over to our table and give us each a hug. We miss him so much. R.I.P. Roger U're music still lives on.

Zapp & Roger are just pure funk inspiration.

Everytime I listen to my greatest hits, it makes me want to play the bass.

I dig their contributions to Funkadelic much more than
anything they did under their own group name. They went
to the well for the Vocoder way too much for my taste.

But "Do It, Roger" swings hard!

The album is really funky, we might have to listen to it more than once but all in all its great. They have the voicebox and everything. Of course it sounds different, but its still Zapp.

Pulled this off of Zapp's web site:

"The group continues to make extraordinary music even though it has, tragically, lost one of it’s lead singers, Roger Troutman."

One of it's lead singers? Damn I think Roger was a little more than that. I know they are under playing Roger not being there to help keep fans interested in the group, but I found that statement a little disrespectful. And from listening to the new tracks, it would have been better if the group had just went a whole new direction instead of doing a vanilla version of the Roger lead Zapp.
