Do you really consider NIN to be industrial? I put them in the Marilyn Manson category...more like hard rock. Neither band can be compared to Skinny Puppy or older KMFDM stuff.

I think they're much more industrial than Manson or most rock bands. They use lots of synths and electric beats. They're kinda between categories.

an album like Mr. Bungle's California would be perfect.

what a masterpiece.

Fragile and California came out about the same time...two really good listens...very arty and layered.

California is fantastic. The whole "surf music" theme going on the whole album combined with Mr. Bungle's signature sound makes a monumental album. I have played this for people who hated Mr. Bungle and they loved this album. It is perfect in every aspect. Even the wierd songs on it keep you totally captivated all the way to the end.

I suggest this album to everyone in this thread. If you like NIN there is no reason why you wouldnt like Mr. Bungle's "California".

NIN isn't even close to industrial, some old music stuff David Lynch did in the '70's is industrial...
I think of NIN more as artnoise, same category as Tool and Skinny Puppy (although overal I find Skinny Puppy's stuff to be pretentious and boring crap)...
Marilyn Manson is kiddie rock, I put him in the same category of that Limp Dickshit and Korn crap...
KMFDM rocks though...

They packed Madison Square Garden just a few years ago, so I'm sure they'll be doing just fine.

Sorry, I just don't like it. shrug I think Pretty Hate and Broken were phenomenal and TDS a disappointment. Just my opinion.

omg How can you put Tool with Skinny Puppy??? No way dude! SP does have a lot of noise...but also a lot of fantasic music.

KMFDM rocks...although I think WAR sucks.
