Poor turnout for Jackson vigils

well RACIST Jermaine,

I guess with your "worldwide support" you were talking about on CNN ..only 133 people showed up. nuts

If anyone can't tell in the last day or so the new "code word" for the Jackson Family/Supporters on TV is everything is Racial.

Jermaine, Flo Anthony & Katherine.. in less then a day..Have change the slant from "the actual case" & "michael jackson's fans and their support" .. TOO trying to start up the nightly (OJ thing) on Cable TV Talk Shows.

WE all know the "OJ Thing" thats when (ok..OJ personally did it, but there were TONS of other Black Guys that were screwed by the Law Enforcement..sooo lets NOT talk about the EXACT Details of THIS case.. Lets make in "In General")

** I guess when you can't draw people from your name & talent anymore.. Just Flip It.. and turn EVERYTHING into a Racial thing? sad rolleyes

Jackson has already tried to doing when his LAST Album basically BOMBED! Showing up in NYC at Al Sharpton's Church & calling SONY & Tommy Mottola a racist and basically a "white devil".

after SONY gave him $65 Million to make & produce that album.

That is SOOO SICK The Jackson Camp & MJ himself has tried to start up bad blood in everyday life with everyday normal people.. FOR HIS Record Sales & now his Underage Sex Crime charges!

~ To be honest I think MJ has a strong case.. and a very good possiblity win & be found not guilty! I mean we are talking about mentially ill people here.. NO one is right in the head! We Know MJ's Problems & Thoughts and how warped he is..

***But.. These Women that keep bringing their kids over to see/sleep over with Michael Jackson AFTER the 1993 charges. are INSANE!!! ( if MJ did or not would you take that chance with your child?? after 1993 WE all were warned! SOOO How after 1993 would you let your son sleep with MJ???)

I just saw on the news yesturday afternoon.. They had a early 40's Mother ..thats said EVEN AFTER this 2003 Sex Crime Charge.. she is STILL going to keep her appointment with MJ in a Year and LET HER 11 Year Old BOY stay & sleep over at Neverland!!!

wow!sad

HOW STUPID are these People!!

well Here is the Jackson Vigil Article

Poor turnout for Jackson vigils

Fans expressed diehard support, but there were few of them
Several vigils organised to show support for Michael Jackson have generated only a lukewarm turnout.
Online fan clubs of the pop legend had arranged a well-publicised series of candlelit events in cities across the world.

But in LA, New York, Montreal and Paris only a handful of supporters responded.

Jackson, 45, has been freed on $3m bail as he awaits trial on charges of child molestation, which he denies.

'Can't sleep'

Media interest in the superstar performer has been intense, but in New York a total of only 30 loyal fans turned out to vigils in Times Square and Manhattan.

They wore Jackson T-shirts and carried placards with the slogans "Michael is innocent" and "It's the press who are scum", reported news agency AFP.

In Paris, fans gathered on the Champs Elysees and walked to the Arc de Triomphe.

If that's the best they could manage, I guess it kind of sums up how many people really think Jackson's innocent

Jeanine Baylis, in New York
Holding candles, they sang We Are the World, the 1985 African famine relief hit written by Jackson and Lionel Richie.

"It's really hard for us," Pascale Hatot told news agency AP.

"I haven't been able to sleep or eat for three days."

But the strength of feeling was not reflected in turnout - only 60 fans attended.

The vigils met with a similar response in other cities, with only six fans attending in Montreal, Canada, and handfuls in Rome and Toronto.

Jackson has responded to the charges with defiance
An event on the Hollywood Walk of Fame in Los Angeles - in Jackson's home state of California - attracted 25 fans.

Like many of Jackson's family and friends, fans expressed suspicions that prosecutors are motivated by malice.

"There is an interest to see him fall as a man and as an artist," said Fabrizio Basili, a 30-year-old man from Rome who wore a black shirt bearing the image of Jackson's face.

"His album Number Ones came out with some of his great hits, and the same day the accusations came and this is why we're suspicious."

Star 'grateful'

Stuart Backerman, a spokesman for the Jackson family, said he had received "hundreds" of supportive emails.

"Michael Jackson has said in the past that his fans are his most precious resource," he said.

"Clearly, the demonstrations around the world reinforce his long-standing feelings for his fans.

"He's grateful."

But a passer-by at one of the New York vigils said the low turnout reflected low public support for Jackson.

"If that's the best they could manage, I guess it kind of sums up how many people really think Jackson's innocent," said Jeanine Baylis as she left Times Square.

---
Well I guess Jacko's Worldwide Support and just in general EVERYONE is just sick & tired of this guy. I mean for 20 years straight he has had his name in the Press in some sorta "Jacko" type story..mostly leaked by him .. and NOT letting US the fans of music take a break from him, and then in a few years say "hey, that music was pretty good 20 years ago.. I think I am going to listen it agian smile and.. hey lets all give him a little push NOW for what he did in the past" smile

but NO we never got to do that! WE were forced to have a silly Jacko Soap Opera for about 20 years. Sure The Tabs & Media played the game to.. but Jackson was behind most of it!

* If you notice in the last Year & a Half..

OTHER "musicans" and I used that word very loosely have been using the Jackson Playbook for Weekly "Jacko Stories" to keep their name in the press..but really all you had was (a moment in time) sure a nice moment. but it is over! Let everyone move on..

(then you did let us move on.. I bet most of everyone in the media & mtv would have came back)

Britney Spears & JLO... BOTH have in the last about year done this Weekly over exposure Jacko Soap Opera leaking stories..

Britney: She is on coke & drugs (then a interivew saying no I dont), she slept with a ton of guys (then a interview that I have not), she parties allot ( I really dont party that much),she seeing Jenna Jamison (then she says she hasn't met her)

* all her "Jacko" Stories are.. I am not a Little Girl, I am doing Adult things.. THEN in interviews in front of the camera says none of this is true & acts like "where do they get this stuff from"

JLO: I mean come on.. The Weekly Ben Affleck Thing.

** I think the funny thing about Pop Culture & Mostly People in Music Today.. WE ALL have seen everything done by one of these 3 Muscians 20+ years ago (Prince, Michael Jackson & Madonna) Those 3 are the Playbook to create a buzz, use the media, push buttons or shock!

..and NOW seeing these Young/New Pop Stars repeat this "stuff" WE all have seen in the first decade of MTV in 2003.. over & over & over again..it si just boring & silly!

They Repeat In:

songs, producing, music videos, creating a buzz, shock & using the media to keep your name in the public eye.

its funny how Michael Jackson only had one video for the album when 2 remixes came out, and they didnt allow him to make the videos for "Break Of Dawn" or "Butterflies" then he wanted 2 do a video 4 "Heartbreaker" also.

That sounds fishy and i dont blame Michael 4 blaming Tommy, because that was a good album.. Michael's Invincible sold 6 MILLION worldwide which is good enough.

Do you MJ fans have even a slight idea that this guy MIGHT be guilty? And you still support him? I just don't understand that. These are SERIOUS alligations. The dude is sick beyond belief, and I think there's more of a chance he is guilty than not just for the fact that he doesn't know what realty is anymore.
I was a fan at one time too..but he has just gone WAY off the deep end now. Did u see his mug shot (of course u did)? He looks like a friggin clown...literally...I mean he doesn't even look human anymore. No one who would do that to himself could be a stable individual. I can't listen to the guys music without immediately thinking of what a freak he is. Its a shame and the way he has turned out makes me sad sad.

Can't think of another one unless you count being dead as trouble.
Didn't see any Robert Downey Jr. candlelight vigils.
Or Phil Spector vigils.

But what does that say???

like i said in another thread, you need to base your belief of his guilt on evidence surrounding the case. ah, but there is no evidence (at least not that the public is aware of).

so, you use his appearance to judge whether or not he's guilty of a crime.

isn't that what prejudiced and racist people do?

You TOTALLY missed the point of my reply. I am saying the fact he did this to HIMSELF makes me question his sanity. I am using this fact to say that is just ONE reason people (including myself) are going to have a hard time believing anything the man says or does...his behavior is considered completely nuts in the public's...not just the media's...eye. That AND for the fact that he has admitted on TV that he sleeps with children. Sorry dude, the chips are stacked against him and sorry to say, he's done this himself.
Also, its not cool to imply that I am racist...ok to org note me and ask me what I meant by my comment before making such an acquisation in a forum such as this. Its just good manners, you know?

i understand what you're saying and, no matter how you slice it, you are stating that because he lives in a way in which you (and many others) don't understand, he might be guilty. and i agree that he has helped to put himself in this position but IF he is innocent of the charges, i do not hold him responsible for the accusations simply because he is different from you or i. i blame the person who made up the lie. i still say you are basing your opinions of the matter on his persona rather than merits of the case.

as for the implications of racism...well, for one i don't know you and have no clue as to what race you are. my comment's purpose was to connect the similarities between your rationale and that of prejudism and racism . i am not insinuating anything.

Mariah Carey said it doesn't surprise her that Tommy would be accused of being racist. She told Larry King that. You can be married to a black person, but hate black people. Keep in mind, Mariah can pass. Him marrying Thalia doesn't mean he's not racist. Most non-blacks accept any other race except black

No problem buddy...it's just my opinion and I want to be clear that my thoughts about the guy are from a place of pitty and confusion...its NOT malicous or unkind. Believe me, I want the guy to be innocent. Up to Thriller I was a HUGE MJ fan, but over the years he has seriously damaged his image to me that I can't listen to his stuff anymore w/out finding myself depressed about what he has become. No hard feelings, coming from a fellow Chi-town orger to another.

i feel the same way as you do in regards to what he's done to his appearance...i truly think it comes from a lack of self love and respect. i really do believe that these charges will be dropped but that doesn't change the fact that he does need some help with his life. i try to focus on his music rather than his looks, but i admit it can be a bit sad when you go over the span of his career and see the visuals.

Put a kid in front of hundreds then thousands then millions of people at a young age. Have everything they say to you magnified a million times in your head. You can never please them, no matter what you do. Add pimples when growing up to the mix. Then stir lovingly with cousins and brothers and father teasing you about your nose and your skin, then add the millions you have to please in the public eye, and the pressure to be number1, then add your father's abuse and taunts, then add vitiligo. Add the financial resources to change the way you look, the way you feel after the most successful album of all time...then mix well...

Everything happens for a reason. Some will never understand or want to understand, but I think that gives you some idea of the logic behind his actions (at least it does to me). I am SURE he regrets doing it tho. It's not exactly an easy thing to talk about in the public, and he would rather people focus on his work for obvious reasons...
