NO DOUBT - It's My Life OK, this is one of the best covers i've heard in a LONG time. No Doubt just nails it... it has a great 80's vibe to it just like the Rock Steady album... only fresh and modern sounding... i like the original by Talk Talk but No Doubt has taken the song in an entirely different direction, which is great... the original has a bit of a murky Tears for Fears kinda sound to it...
They should have held off on the Greatest Hits and put out an album of 80's covers... that would have been alot of fun... what songs might they have done... maybe something like New Moon on Monday by Duran Duran... and some Blondie stuff...

They did a great job with this song. No Doubt is awesome. "You need people like me so you can point your fuckin' fingers and say, "That's the bad guy." "

I agree smokeverbs. rubbish. pure and utter rubbish.
I'm a huge fan of the original and a huge fan of Talk Talk and this version is awful. Gwen just cannot get the same emotion conveyed as the original. her voice sounds like she is forcing it. And the music really isnt too much different. The original is a classic, this is garbage. "I'm here to chew bubblegum and kick ass, and I'm all out of bubblegum"

Is this the song originally recorded by The Animals in '64? *****************************************

I never cared for Talk Talk. They were cheesy. But this was one song of theirs that I liked. No Doubt's version is a big improvement though. They took a well-written song and produced it well, finally.

Talk Talk kicked ass!! But this No Doubt cover doesn't own up to the original version. The No Doubt cover is O.K. but I like Talk Talk's version better. WAY better! NEW WAVE FOREVER: SLAVE TO THE WAVE FROM THE CRADLE TO THE GRAVE.

I love it. I've had it playing almost non stop inthe car for a few weeks.
Anyone noticed how the base line is a complete rip off of "Material Girl"? .

I think it's great.
It's basicly the same song with Gwen's vocals instead, of course the orginal is better, but No Doubt's version is one of the few covers out there that I actually like. ~KiKi

Love it I saw the Video today and I wasn't sure who she was, at one point she runs over one of the band members who is standing in front of a large gate, reminiscent of a scene from Whatever happened to Baby Jane, so I thought she was being Bette Davis. Anyhow, cool video.
